I’ve yet to see a jogger that doesn’t look as miserable as sin!

And when you get out of their way only about 1 in 20 say thanks or even nod, hope they twist an ankle, miserable twats

Tried the bike but can'tsee how how riding a quad can help .Do I have to push it .

Does anyone else train their liver with massive amounts of alcohol? Not to failure of course! Just many reps to build stamina?

Fcuking he'll mate the way you were going on I thought you were about 83! At 33 your still wet behind the ears. Follow Birds example he's 65 but you'll never hear him complaining.....

I saw quite an incredible feat of cardio a couple of weeks back and have felt a bit of a kick up the arse

i hate running , Tuesdays are for running in my life at present with circuits and a big horrid session of cardio and hiit fridays

cant seem to get enthusiastic at present but I may give myself a slap on Monday and sort myself out

Took up the gym (cardio, weights and Thai boxing) at the beginning of the year, after a few years out. I'm in the gym 5 days a week. Out of those 5, 3 days, I'm at it twice a day when I have gym and Thai boxing. Could never go running, it'd bore me shitless, the cardio machines are bad enough.

The only running you do is 11 bells Friday morning when your running out the gate of work to knock off for the day !

Isn't it fcukin hard! When you weigh 17 stone and haven't done any running for years it must be the hardest thing in the world.

Best thing about it in my younger years i was a Cross Country champion for years on end and ran for Yorkshire. It used to be so easy for me but now it feels like the end of the world! Trouble is i try to run at the pace i did all the years back which is impossible, i do wonder if it's possible to get super fit again at my age.

Your fitness will soon come back mate you just need to work at it. As you have done a lot when you were younger it’s in you somewhere it just needs bringing back out. Join a local running club and go in the walk to run groups to start with then work your way up. You’ve got plenty of years of good running left in you yet mate a good 10 years or perhaps more before things may start to slow down a little for you at club level depending on how much you want to push yourself. Gps watches are cheap as chips these days they are a great help to keep a good eye on things.

Some decent points but a few I do t agree with

after 35 , without the use of steroids you will never acheive what you could have at 25

sorry bit that’s a fact

in my twenties I would run 3 -4 times a week, and at pace.

My body physically cannot do that now , no chance, I don’t have those gears anymore at all. I used to run ??‍♂️ n a Saturday as a pre cursor to going out with the last mile at a serious pace.

That level is gone , if you can find a safe inner city run , incline preffered, Work those street lights , sprint two, jogbthree, recover one , repeat ad finitum

if your not at that level look at working 8 min mile pace , stick to that as a building block , once at that , you can test and adjust from there !

Dont be afraid , I’m fact I enjoyed passing people , bully people , stare at passers by, your a leopard , wear an iPod with aggressive songs , you could be a Viking coming off shore from a long boat on a raid , or a boxer preparing for a fight of s lifetime, loose yiurself in your music, remember you may not be Michael Johnson but your lapping those sat on the couch.

Eat, drink, recover , stretch , 3 - 4 times a week.

You don’t need to run every day,

a hundred miles a month is a great starting point, try to kill your dead time eg sat nights, Sunday mornings etc.

Be as nimble as a greyhound, as hard as krupp steel , and so you shall be the fallschrimjager incarnate
