chartpolski 30,193
Still a lot more to come out, but it looks like the huge US build up in the region of men and matériels and the movement of aircraft into the area, along with the Americans bombing three bridges and a power plant yesterday, convinced China and India that Trump was serious. China and India are massively dependent on Irans oil and were suffering economically like the rest of us , so China has told Iran take the cease fire and open up the Strait, as if American did “bomb Iran back to the Stone Age” it would be catastrophic for chinas economy. A big game of bluff to see who blinked first ? Who knows, but the Strait is open today , the price of oil has fallen dramatically and the stock markets are up. Lets see what happens if some rogue IRGC General decides to start throwing missiles about again. I think there’s still a long way to go. Cheers.

And Iran not a threat, may be not so much now the USA has bombed them but they have the 3rd biggest oil reserves in the world and at this moment in time oil=power. Again the Ayatollahs arent interested in economies, the growth of there country or the welfare of its people, it wants the death and complete annihilation of the West. On that basis Im comfortable with pre-emptive strikes to stop them gaining the upper hand. Anyone who thinks Trump is running the show single handed is a fool. If his advisors thought his actions were genuinely threatening the USA direct he wouldn't last 5 minute POTUS or not.

Did america beg plead for help and got left to it by there allies? Irans army was ranked globally as 16th in the world. Since the USA has bombed them they 40 senior commanders were killed within hours causing a military vaccum, the air force has been destroyed and America have complete control of the airspace. The navy is destroyed, The Shahid Bagheri was reduced to a smoking shell within minutes, and the Makran is still burning at its pier in Bandar Abbas. Of the six Jamaran-class frigates, two have been destroyed and another two or three have been heavily damaged. The Fateh, the only modern submarine of its class, has also been destroyed. 40% of the missile stash, communications Infrastructure, command centres and factories have been destroyed. Yep sounds like they are doing great! Funny how people see things. I felt Trumps request for involvement from its allies was more of a call for moral support rather than full on military support and too ascertain from his perspective who he could rely on.

TRUEBRIT66 2,526
On another point concerning potential attacks on the UK if we get involved with 20 IRGC terrorist attacks being thwarted in this country I checked some stats. It looks like ICE detained and deported over 800 Iranians leading up to June 2025, if only our government took a leaf out of the USA's book we may be a little bit more inclined to assist the USA ?
