My daughter in law was at a birthday party with one of my grandchildren, last year. Some cakes or some such were passed around, and one of the young mums asked if there were nuts in them. She was, naturally, asked if her child was allergic - she replied "We don't know, but we don't want to take any chances...."

forest of dean redneck 12,022
but I was brought up to eat what I was given.....so I shouldn't say anything. We got invited over to the neighbours when we moved in, they cooked salmon which I am not a fan of...actually I hate it as does the wife...I wouldn't be so rude so say so but my wife is a fussy f**ker also vegi (but eats fish) and had the gaul to tell them she didn't like salmon! They bought a piece of cod specially....how fu*king embarrassing!!!! For me that is the worst thing you can do....you eat what you are given right? how can your misses be a vegi....yet, eats fish.... It's quite common amongst them....technically they're pescitarians but who cares about the name I think they're just fussy b*astards with some kind of food phobia Fish don't have feelings.lol

Over time she has mellowed a lot and doesn't care really. She will prepare meat for us and I've even seen her taste gravy. So I don't give her any crap and she doesn't complain when I walk in the house with an armful of dead birds I'd do anything to get her eating normally but it will never happen so we just have to work around it. I mate of mine you used come round my house for dinner for many years & he claimed an 'intolerance' to peppers & broccoli (we eat a lot of them in our house)......when I got to the bottom of it....they just made him burp a bit! Ffs In my experience a lot of people with some 'food intolerance' have all kinds of other issues.....
Born Hunter 17,909
I'm utterly intolerable if you try to feed me tomatoes or custard! It's the skins on tomatoes that make me want to gip and custard is just vile snotty slime.

I don't doubt that for a minute lol In our parents house if you didn't like what you got and said so the other two brothers would dive in to your plate and take all your food. If you got hungry later it was bread and butter....no biscuit barrel or snacks in that household lol The only think I hate is processed food but for good reasons, they're full of sh*t, salt and sugar, I like good quality meat, fish and veg
