Just wondering what people's views are on what I find is becoming a more familiar situation.

 

I don't have my boys all that often so with me being of work today and kids being off school I decided to pick them up a take the lurcher pup for a walk to try and find a couple nice hazel sticks for a good friend who I have not seen for four year but I'm expecting visiting this summer.

Anyway, it was a good walk out, pup put a couple pheasants up and got her nose to a fresh hare seat and kids got to see there first hare sat tight as well as getting a bit of dirt under there nails away from xbox, iPad, and all the other crap.

Apart from the odd shower it was perfect untill I got 75-80yrds from motor Which was parked under 10yrds off the public road, on the verge at the start of a public footpath.

To walk the last 75-80yrds you walk down a narrow foot path with a pig mesh fence on either side, on the right there's the wood with a foot path through where we collected our hazle sticks on the left a cottage with a large garden, it was here i noticed a man hanging out the stable door on what looked like his kitchen. He saw me and I saw him, no problems . . . untill he saw lunar my 6 month old lurcher pup, then that was it " if you got one of them you need to get it on a lead, now! " "I mean now! I have cats that live here and this is there home and they like to go into the wood" I had me boys so I gave it a simple "okay" but then he added something along the lines of "useless fuckers" or summit like that that to witch I suggested he put his cats on a lead and keep them under control and it was people like you that are ruining the countryside.

Anyway got back to the motor then put the pup in, put the sticks in, got kids in car seats and just about to turn ignition when I noticed a note "don't park here, private land" so with kids in car this time I went to return the note written by the same townie guy with the cats when his townie wife fired up and started doing some sort of entertaining vodoo dance lol . .

anyway the conclusion was if I park on the puplic road verge near the public foot path, to walk down the public footpath that Ive walked for as long as I can remember there going to let the air out of my tyers and out of me! what ever that means then they going to phone police lol.

So basically a retired anti hunting townie couple who watch too much spring watch and think they are all things great to the natural world that they do not have a clue about are trying to stop country people going into the country and using ancient footpaths because they own a cat or two.

I get out a fair bit and find this sort of thing is happening more and more often and the townie moved to the country types are slowley ruining the countryside.

 

At least my mates stick will have a story . . . or two behind it.

One couple moves into some cottages that border an estate I used to beat on and came round and asked the keeper if he could stop the pheasants landing on their roof !!!

The best bet with folk like that is to talk back in an unknown laungage basically just make up a few strange noises.

Next time that they threaten to let the air out of your tyres and out of you, just remind them that you know were they live and they don't know were you live.

Then tell them to get a good nights sleep while they can and not to let the cats roam to far, then give them a nice friendly wink before driving off.

Ignore them and just smile back at them, they want you to bite. They might just be empty threats, id carry on like normal and if they do deflate your tyres just let them know they wont get away with it.

Had this scenario last year a paddock what i ferret is on a road that is marked private its owned by a hospital trust, about 8 houses on it, anyway last year as i was getting the dogs out of the car a girl about ten years old said to me do you know this is a private road, stuck up little madam, to which i replied did mummy or daddy tell you to say that, yes she said we live in that house over there. So i said tell your dad if he wants to speak to me ill be back in half an hour. Anyway got back with the dogs and there is this bearded guy waiting for me, its a private road here he said you have no right to be on her, look i said ive been doing pest control on this land for years, never had a problem with residents here, have you just moved,.yes he said were renting with a view to buying and dont want people wandering around here. So i said renting with a view to buying , typical townie phrase if i were you id f**k of back to where you came from you stuck up twat. Couple of months later he had packed up and gone, gutless bstard sending the kids to deliver a message.
