How embarrassing you made up a theory called 'thread development'.

See even your contributing to the development, when a thread is dying through lack of interest a tangent often gives it a bit more longevity. The tangent often appeals to members who were not inclined to post on the original topic. Hence developing the thread to a wider audience.

I got sort of "Roped in" with a guy some years who had a couple of whippets and seemed a decent sort...He asked me to his permission one night and spent the entire night shouting and hassling a young fawn whippet that was only learning the ropes and a a little over a year old...Shouting and slapping the little dog was not required, he was a trier but the whole thing simply had not really clicked, but given time I feel he would have been fine.

He would retrieve but not at night...

The expert then decided that in order to teach the young dog to retrieve at night, while we were lamping, he would knock ten bells out of it, tie a rabbit to its collars and spent ten minutes shining a light in its face while shouting BRING....

Needless to say, that was the last I saw of him until about two years ago when I met him at a show - What about the whippets I asked? "Sold them" he replied, I'm doing dog agility now with collies......

The whippets got away!!

wouldn't say he was the worst but definitely the most interesting. My uncle he was big bloke and all ways on the wrong end or the right end depending on your take of a bottle of whisky. He was pretty red before he started but luminous by the time we finished lol. He used to enjoy it though

I had my first weekend last weekend. A friend of a friend said I could join him for my first night. He said shut up and stand exactly where I tell u so did as I was told. Everything was going great until I tripped on a stick and went face first into barbed wire. After id Ripped my chin open I said no I'm Alright let's carry on... 5 minutes later slipped down a ditch into about 4 foot of water, freezing and covered in sh#t. He helped me out and politely said I think you've had enough tonight boy... Anyway long story short I messed up, he pretty much said f**k off and i went home. Don't think I'll be getting the phone call to go again!! ???

Your all grown men whining on about nothing, this post was for funny stories. Talk your drivel on private messages to each other...

It's called thread development, have a look at all the other threads they all end up the same. Fact of life here I am afraid. Funnily enough, it usually precedes the end of a thread. So in that case I would be grateful if I were you that the thread has lasted longer than it's natural course.
