not mine socks. his nut's too big and its on the tightest setting. its definitely good enough to stop him and he is keen alright. the wrist strap is only there to retain the lead on the slip and the finger loop used to slip/tighten as you need. been using this a couple of months now on the lamp and he aint got off yet unless i mean him to.

when i lamp with him he's a dab hand at nicking back rabbits that have just made it through a gate or fence. i'd rather the dog twist out of any lead than have to run a hundred yards to save him hanging himself by a collar

Been using a gun dog slip lead with the ring cut off Iam surprised I've still got usally go threw 3/4 slip leads a year

Yeah he said you can spot them a mile off, they either have a big bully cross and trainers on or a skinny salukiki cross and steel toe cap boots

We use what my mates call 'gypsy slips' which are a leather collar with one looped length of leather which goes over youre wrist, and one straight piece that tightens and gives you good control. Used em on all the dogs we run from 20' beddy whippet to 28' deerhoundx and theyre strong enough for the bullxs. Really good bit of kit imo

only been out a few times this year, tryed a few things, strong stuff slip lead ended up prefered choice. a mate has used rope for about 6 year, swears by it..

So does most people prefer to run there dogs with collars on or off? I only put a collar on him when out with the lamp and use a piece of rope,but when out ferreting I prefer to leave the collar off cos am a bit para he gets snagged up cos were forever under hedge rows/fences etc

Been getting my pup used to working without a slip and it's most rewarding and enjoyable.

Taught her the "wait" command as a pup to stop her jumping out of the motor when I open the boot or to stop her jumping fences before me etc so that was half the battle done.

trying to teach mine to jump clear of the subrau instead of 500 cart wheel's been throwing out the door at 40mph.... then on to shouting out watch your toes for these cold froozen nights
