Nice one RossM. The only snow us down here are likely to see. Oh and by the way, possibly the only rabbits ffs. Jok.

Out of interest, what are you going to be carrying as in numbers? Jok.

Having just had my evening meal, how, out of curiosity would you hunt a haggis? Jok

Well Lara. What a strange introduction from yourself. However. We all start with a water bottle (full) some form of sustinence ie a MARS BAR or TWix, waterproof clothing as our climate is slightly different than in the Southern Hem, usually armed to the teeth with whatever our Government allows at the time, ( at this time possibly a catapult and spear) some warm clothing and a wing and a prayer. Hope that helps. Jok.

Quick question for the fresh water guys. I have decided to sell all my trout gear and wondered if you all think I should put it on here or go the EBay route ? Jok -
Yes I remember a bit now. I think I was somewhere in the Middle East when you or your father did what you did and I did what I did. Jok.

Nice one Rio. I particularly like the idea of bog oak simply because I found it difficult to get hold of when I was doing the wood turning. It certainly makes a nice hand. Jok.

Pop round my house pal. I’ve something for your collection. Jok.

Nice one Wayne. Good to get a result. Jok.

Somehow I knew you would comment. Great to remember those days. Jok.

With all the shite going on regarding shooting, hunting, gun licensing, rabbiting on common ground, digging, etc, etc, etc. I just thought I’d bring a reminder of how good things were in the eighties. I have mentioned this place on a couple of occasions but have only recently got some pics. (More to follow). When I got back to the UK in 84, I took a year off to adjust. During this time I was welcomed into the shooting and hunting fraternity and indeed managed to organise and run a private shoot near to Ashby deal Zouch. We were very successful and indeed moved into gun dog training and gun dog

Thinking further. One of the gardeners hates is ‘Mares Tail’ which, like bracken is very intrusive. The olde way of dealing with it was, and probably still is, bruising. Because of its surface structure it is unlikely that normal weed killing methods would do any good. Bruising breaks the surface which allows penetration by herbicides which can then reach the root ultimately killing the plant. Jok.

Don’t know about that Arry. Watched Countryfile the other night and the wardens were hand clipping with shears. Looked hellishly boring but the results were good. I remember as a child, being slightly rebellious, setting alight the middle of the Eildon Hills at Melrose. To be fair it had the desired result but our local fire service were less than impressed. I remember some fairly sore parts of my anatomy. Jok.

Google the patent office as you have a number. They might help. Jok.

Blooming eco Wayne, that is a strange one. Is it complete as in the pics do you think. Jok

I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again. Your presentation of the finished article/s is immaculate. I think of Gruffalo’s lovely presentation in a rustic manner which takes your breath. Between the pair of you it’s a joy to see the end product. Well done. Jok.

Yep. Equal footing. Shame really as, IMO Ireland stood out a mile. Jok.

No mate. They were shocking. I can’ remember so many stupid penalties and to do so against Wales of all sides was hellish to watch. Also thought the Irish were first mesmorised and then trampled on. Well done Wales and France. Are the Ehglish going for a 50 pointer I wonder?

Well, as the title suggests, I have a Marquee business for sale. I have been operating event hire in the Midlands for quite a number of years. I have been involved in everything from weddings, funerals, 21st’s, Country fairs, Music /bands, outside bars, beer festivals etc, etc. The list just goes on and on. I’ll health has taken its toll as has the pandemic, although the latter was quite profitable. I’m not going into specifics at this time but any genuine enquiries will be answered. There is no longer any transport as vehicles sold. I am based in Ashby de la Zouch. Jok

Tried the Vets Ross ffs. Jok.

Crikey son, that opens a right can of worms. I’m guessing 2 storey so upper bedroom and downstairs living room involved. Air bricks are a big issue. Scaffolding is mandatory these day and skip hire toget rid of detritus. All in all a very big job. I know. I had my top stack removed, believe it or not on Xmas eve. Scaffolding was a grand and my man had a nice pony in his pocket. You never seem to get rid of the smell of soot in the lounge but I guess this will go. Good luck to your lass. Jok.

Kanny. That is pretty much what I told him. It’s a long while since we used mahogany or sep. Is there a logical substitute. It is an old boat and deserves the best. That leaves me out ffs. Jok.
-
The Bidet. Brilliant for washing your rear end and not bad for under your tager as well.
-
Kanny. A question son. A friend is redoing his boat cabin externally and asked me if I have any mahogany/sep in the workshop. Answer. No, neither. Where would he go these days to find? As you might remember I live in Ashby de la Zouch. He’s making noises like 9mm/12mm. Good result against Leicester. Jok.
