Just been reading this again and some thoughts and memories come to mind. Only as regards the Solway, access is the biggest barrier. Now, right or wrong, because it has been a long while, our access was just up the road from Newton Stewart where we met one of the foreshore farmers. These guys pay a rent to the Crown allowing them to graze their sheep. It does not allow trespass to gain access for anyone to the foreshore. If however you take the chance, access via the burns (creeks) does not break any laws. As soon as you get to the high tide mark then all is good. Word of warning. Don’t shoot

Not that I’m drinking it at the moment, but my daughter brought me a present yesterday. I am a staunch bitter drinker with, as is in my hand now, a nice glass of Pinot which was lovely with a cod in cheese sauce. The new trial is or are from M & S named ‘the Marksologist’ maple and smoke Manhattan and Cacaoand Aged rum old fashioned. I’m not sure about these so if anyone else has gone this road please give me the nod. Back to my Pinot. Jok.

Me and another watching know about temperatures 40 plus. Nowhere to hide either. Only benefit was you were on duty from 7am till midday and then from 4pm till 8. F hot. Jok.

Well there you go then. What a legend. Peter Hickman will go down in the record books as one of best, and bravest, riders in history. I love this guy who has been a family friend for many a year. His dad, David, deserves a mention as being a hell of a rider as well. Fantastic. Jok.

After an MRI Scan it has been revealed that my prostate cancer ends no further treatment. After X-rays on my shoulder(following a fall whilst setting some crayfish traps where I maybe should not have been) they say that mild osteoarthritis is my problem. Heard the cuckoo again. Saw my first rabbit in ages which was a black un. Heard that rabbit population on one of my old perms is on the mend, East Midlands Airport. Her in doors still loves me. What a day. Jok.

Borrs response made me think. As kids, in the Scottish Borders, annually we collected rose hips during the school summer holidays. Collected and taken into school we were paid, I think, 6d per llb. Well my dad thought what the hell, go large, on the farm we had cow feeders which he draped in hessian and we poured in the berries for what seemed like weeks on end. Cutting a long story short, we loaded the Landrover and trailer and took the lot in. Weighed nearly a ton. Delarosa stopped taking orders from schools from that summer. Hoot Hoot. Maybe folks thought I was kidding about Lion dung. I live right by a zoo and the keepers will let me have any amount of the stuff. It deters a number of unwanted species. Not that we have many Roe in this area so send them up this way please. Jok.

All the above. Had a field trial Labrador and field trial spaniel. They were kennelled together and I missed the obvious. However. The outcome was fantastic. My friend had 2 pups, Spic and Span. What a pair of dogs the turned out to be. We did the Solway on the geese(obviously) and those little dogs were just the best. Fearless. Obedient, biddable, friendly. I would, without hesitation, recommend this breeding. Strange thing is that they don’t take the springer colouring. What they do take is the the look in there eyes which is unmistakelingly spaniel. Jok.

Just found 2 x litre bottles Black Cherry Vodka 2014. They were hiding in the garage which I’m sorting out. Might need a few pals round to see how it has aged. Jok.
