How about two shopping trollies end to end - and a towbar? ?
-
That refusal is pathetic. Its like saying that you can't have a car in case some unlicenced driver nicks it from a car park while you are shopping. And how many dominant male crayfish carry eggs? Because lots of the ones I caught on the Dearne had egg clusters. Thers is no wonder the rivers are in such a state with those clowns in charge.
-
They were found in the Dearne at least 15 years ago. They are called Barnsley lobsters. Three traps baited with liver would get you around thirty in as many minutes. There is a 120 hectare lake near here that is full of them. You can't fish bait on the bottom and they will even come out of the water to raid a bait bucket. I take a trap with me when carp fishing.

Come on. Give the guy a break. Desperate times call for desperate measures. How would you get out of an Everton contract?

Gnasher, if you are up Whitby way I can recommend a camp site at Hinderwell called The Serenity. You can walk into Staithes, Runswick Bay and Port Mulgrave. Lovely places. -

To be fair, all that stood between us and freezing to death in northern Spain in winter was 1" of closed cell foam insulation all round, thermal screens on the windows, a double quilt and a 6 kilowatt Truma gas heater. It was close. -
Have you seen the news about the floods in Germany? There was an appeal by the German Red Cross on tv last night asking for donations. I phoned them up and offered an old Fox 2.75lb flood rod and half a dozen 150g cage feeders, but they ween't interested. Strange volk!

A few years ago I went off in March on a fishing trip in the old camper van we had. In the morning there was frost on the inside of the windows. The cat was not impressed! Next night I remembered to turn the heating on. We've survived down to -6C in Spain in winter. There's a lot to be said for gas when camping. -

He still hasn't found his mate who stepped outside the tent saying that he may be some time. -

That's how I set up. If it is cold or threatens to rain hard I'll suspend the poncho just over the hammock diagonally and peg the corners so they keep some heat in and take any rain that gets through the tarp away. -

For something like that I'd take a tin of corned beef and some tomato puree and do a corned beef hash. Dry cured ham lasts a long time and small tins of tuna are useful. Pasta needs a lot of water. If you haven't got much water then use cous-cous. It is available ready flavoured. Or take some large spuds. For bread; brioche lasts a lot longer than ordinary bread and if there is any apples and / or soft fruit about you can make a summer pudding in a coffee mug. Chorizo, onions and garlic along with salt, pepper and tomato puree are a must for me. They add a lot of flavour to ordinary foo -
You'll soon get fed up of all those people stepping out in front of you, waving and shouting: "Taxi!" ?

There are usually over 7 million players in the FPL. About 2 million of those though are teams registered just to get the most points in one gameweek then abandoned. It is big money betting in Asia. This year some of the Euro finalists and semi finalists will not be playing the first two or three game weeks making it harder to pick the initial team. Clubs like City, Utd and Chelsea will be hardest hit in the early matches. Then you have the newcomers to try and assess. Will Brentford's Toney cary on scoring freely in the PL like he has in the lower leagues? And how the transfers will s

Now the real footy has finished it is time to plan for the Fantasy Premiere League again. Anybody doing it?

Couldn't get on with the CX500. The vibrations through the handlebars gave me white fingers. No problems with the VF750 and Deauville 650 though.

Yes. Same engine in my previous Berlingo. Flat as a fart but run for ever. The French call the old Citroens Les Indistructables. I had the larger versjon of that engjne in our first French motorhome. 73bhp, 2.5 pulling 3 tonnes!

There are some C15 vans on sale out here with 600k kilometres on the clock and they still ask over two grand for them. They didn't cost that new ? I've currently got an ex-Gendarmerie Berlingo. 13 years old with one previous owner - the police. Main dealer serviced all its life and it is 4WD with higher ground clearance and bigger wheels. I haven't got stuck on the muddy lanes when out fishing.

I bought a Volvo 244 auto estate from an auction for £130 including commission. It had 250k on the clock, but the tyres were Michelin and all the hoses and cables were new and branded Volvo so I reckoned it had been looked after. I sold it three years later for a small profit with 400k on it. In between it had taken four of us with all our sea fishing tackle and 200lb of home made leads to Dingle three times. There wasn't a trace of oil in the tail pipe and other than consumables all it needd was a rocker gasket. My last van was a Berlingo (Partner) 1.9d, ex Forestery Commission. Tin worm

I went to a vintage race day. One race was all Porches complete with Nigels dressed in race day overalls with sponsors names all over them. Right at the front of the grid was a Mk 1 Escort in duck egg blue and nothing except a race number and flared wheel arches to distinguish it from a bog standard repmobile. It pi$$ed all over the German cars. Turned out to be Lotus Ford.

Yep. You got it.

I know that he's not going to solve his damp problem without ventilation.

I don't know what its like where you live. But where I came from we had windows that you could open and chimneys that carried smoke up them. Man progresed from caves about 27,000 years ago for good reason.
-
It is a similar situation in France with old houses built on soil floors. That is why I got rid of a lot of my books and fishing tackle before moving into an old cottage we rented initially. The damp would have destroyed them. One answer is to fit vents in ceilings that are connected to a low power fan and exhausts through the loft space or outside wall.

He ought to stop living like a fekkin Hobbit and move into a proper house.
