  1. I bet the current Liebour leader doesn't live in an ex-council flat.
  2. Well, what you expect for someone who hasn't had a proper job in his life?
  3. The Irish RM was a good series and he broke away from the type of smarmy character that he always seemed to be cast in. RIP
  4. He seems to have dropped the nuclear threats too. Mind you losing one General is bad enough, but losing four is downright careless. Perhaps they held the nuclear codes?
  5. I'm surprised that you didn't get the Reader's Digest Club edition ?
  6. Mein Kampf has been available for some years now. The German Government held the copyright but that has expired.
  7. Yes, but Camoron was a man of the people. His wife came off an estate. Not a council estate mind. A 20,000 acre country estate. The laughing emoticon about Barnsley Lobsters can be explained. Signal crayfish were found in the local river, the Dearne long before they became widespread. Local anglers called them Barnsley Lobsters. They caught them by rod and line, not cages. A piece of liver was fastened to the line using a bulldog clip. When the float dipped the angler would lift the rod and bring the crayfish to within netting range taking care not to lift it out of the water or it woul
  8. The French Government have announced that they are cutting fuel costs by 15 cents per litre for 4 months from April 1st. The French General Election is on April 10th, but I'm sure there is no connection.... ?
  9. The Lada wasn't designed in Russia. They bought all the machinery from Fiat where it bad been made and sold by them as the Fiat 124. The Moskvich was a Russian designed car, albeit with the help of some German engineers taken as captives following WW2. The billboard adverts stated; "Built to last a Russian winter" to which was often written underneath; "And not day longer"
  10. Wasn't it much the same with the Russian version of the Harrier?
  11. The Russians have always been over estimated in their military and technology. This was useful to countries wanting an excuse to arm themselves more than necessary. Back in the Vietnam days the Yanks were claiming that the Foxbat plane had sophisticated anti-missile cefences systems that prevented American fighters locking their air to air missilss on them. Turned out the Foxbat hadn't got a radar let alone a defence system. We were told that the Russians were as advanced as the West. Yet all they could sell us were Lada cars and Zenit cameras. The only reason they didn't fall to German
  12. I bet that gets used more than those charging point parking places
  13. You might have noticed grain prices rising recently. Highest wheat prices since 2008. Given that Russia and the Ukraine supply the most wheat to the poorest African and middle eastern countries it doesn't take a genius to see where this is going. Especially when richer countries are flooding the futures market. Then factor in the scramble for non-Russian oil and gas..........
  14. You really can't comprehend the scale of forced migration if the grain harvest from Ukraine fails. Prices of wheat have already rocketed causing riots in some countries. When there is no wheat left because richer countries are buying the smaller stocks it will make the current migration look like a walk in the park.
  15. I think that NATO should be planning some military exercises in Alaska and Canada. Just outside Russia's back door.
  16. As I said earlier in this thread; the aim was to quickly seize Ukraine and create a famine in the middle east and north Africa that would swamp the west with tens of millions of refugees. That was his aim, but it hasn't gone to plan. Now he is fighting for his own life. The more top brass he sacks and imprisons, the higher the liklihood of a regime change. He is becoming increasingly desperate.
  17. It ain't going to get any better soon. All those countries who were relying on Russion gas and oil will be competing for the stuff from elsewhere.
  18. I think that we are just going to have to get used to it. Oil prices aren't going to drop even after the conflict is over. Unless the government are prepared to drop their cut on fuel duty then everything will increase in price as everything is delivered by road. And the government have been trying to cut road usage for decades so I don't think they will help motorists. They are wanting householders to change to green heating so I can't see them subsidising gas and heating oil prices. I do over 40k miles a year on business. My diesel bill is now half as much again and diesel was already
  19. I see they won't waste any on north Lancashire ?
  20. I think Ant and Dek disprove that.
  21. I think his handler needs to recall him for refresher training before taking on another mission. His cover has been blown.
  22. Scottie IS the Russian government
