  1. I don't see how mermaids would be any use. Even if they did have their boobies out.
  2. I offered to join the Ukraine resistance, but my previous military service of 6 months in the Barnsley Sea Cadets wasn't regarded as suitable experience. To be fair I only joined up due to a misunderstanding. I thought they said that I would have no problem pulling a couple of whores. Anyway, after being wounded in action in a skirmish with the Wakefield Sea Cadets on the Aire & Calder Canal where I got a splinter in my thumb I resigned my commission.
  3. Sory mate, you have it all wrong. You need to have a word with Scottie. He'll out you straight. He gets his info direct from the Kremlin.
  4. If we could just let the oliagarths win the Nigerian Lottery they could pay all their staff and stop the bleeding heart Liberals bleating about ordinary people being affected by all this.
  5. And what is your solution? Freezing the assets of the Russian bilionaires serves two purposes. It stops them transferring money into Russia and potentially undermines any support they have for Putin and increases the chance of regime change from within. It is easy for you to sit on the sidelines slagging everybody off, but I don't see what you are doing to make the world a better place. Perhaps you could enlighten us as to what you have done in the last five years?
  6. They were a nightmare. The job was hard enough without having to babysit some Walt. And if you calculated how much it cost to recruit, train and equip them against the hours they chose to work, it cost twice as much per hour than a real bobby.
  7. The National Guard drive F16s? ? We wouldn't let the Specials have the keys for a Ford Focus let alone a Volvo T5 ?
  8. The proposed deal is that Poland hands their MiGs to Ukraine and the Yanks replace them with their F16 planes. Except the Yanks haven't got any new ones in stock or being produced and Poland is nervous about the whole thing.
  9. And I think that Scottie is a serial poster of un verified propoganda. Wasn't it him that got all the anti vaxers into an orgasm with his irrifutable proof that the government had said vaccines didn't work. And posted a link that said nothing of the sort?
  10. Scottie. Do you simply believe any schite that people send you, or do you just really want to believe it?
  11. It might be Russia trying to negotiate its aay out of this mess.
  12. Lynda Baron best known as Arkwright's neighbour Nurse Gladys Emmanuel has left the building. RIP
  13. Not as much as you would prefer to think. Remember that you only have to make decisions for yourself and your family for as long as you expect to live. Governments have to plan for more than that.
  14. Our government have to abide by those laws that prevent radical measures being taken. It will get to the stage, as it has in Greece, Poland and elsewhere when those laws are ignored. But as you yourself have said often enough; "we are better than that". You can't have it all ways.
  15. Those cleverer than you realised that we haven't got the reserves. Hence sourcing from places that have. And God gave most of the oil to rag heads and despots. If she had given more to the nice guys you wouldn't have to dig out your hindsight.
  16. It will be a tiny fraction if the Ukrainian farmers don't plant their crops this month. The politicians are just starting to realise what is coming.
  17. And the option was no gas and oil now if they didn't, not sometime in the future. They had little choice. Hindsight is a wonderful gift thst you have.
  18. Perhaps when the migration is counted in millions in one year you might understand.

  20. Again wriggling out of the side exit. You said that you can't blame Putin for exploiting the madness of the west. Even if that causes a global famine? That would be Putin, not the west to blame as he has planned it. Russia and Ukraine provide one third of the world's wheat along with a lot of maize and other staples. Already prices have rocketed across the middle east and Nth Africa. That will impact most on the poor. The next wave of immigration won't be those with smart phones and a pocket full of money. It will be millions of people bringing nothing and offering nothing.
  21. So you think disrupting the supply of wheat grain to Africa potentially causing the death of millions is our fault. Geez. You are some fecking hypocrite.
  22. Tell me that when tens of millions from Nth Africa and the middle east are displaced by famine created by this invasion. Putin's end game is to overwhelm the west by mass migration. He already has half of Europe by the balls with the gas shortage. Wait till the grain runs out.
  23. Dodging the issue. Hitchens' view on Russia is coloured by him being living in a tiny bubble of similar people who have no concept of the bigger picture. The Russians treated these western journalists to a life that bore no resemblance to the hardships faced by others. And they do that so these quizlings can go back and tell people how wonderful it is.
  24. If you read the books sritten by travellers going through Russia you will find that there are tens of millions out of wkfk since the fall of communism. Just like when the Tories closed the mines and steel works they never replaced the jobs. But unlike the UK there is no social security or health service. The city Russians might be doing OK. But those out in the sticks are abandoned. Hitchens wouldn't come across those.
  25. You are spot on Charts. Wilf is doing his usual Devil's Advocate. If Hitchens wasn't a privileged westerner with the security that brings, and was living the life of an ordinary Russian with no job, no social security and nothing but a smallholding between him and starvation he might not champion the Russian way.
