  1. I think that is a rat escaping after being trapped inside.
  2. I don't get their argument. What would happen to all the cows that were taken off milk production? Do these people think the farmers will keep them as pets? If they cull the dairy herds then the beef production will also be threatened.
  3. If in doubt vote for the one with the biggsst tits!
  4. Private Eye have been on his case for years. Bent as a corkscrew.
  5. 2.4 If there is no SORN marker on PNC, then the vehicle will be checked on the approved DVLA web site and the following will apply: • Less than 2 months and a day from date of liability - authorised person will issue a form CLE 2/6 notifying DVLA but the vehicle will NOT be seized. • More than 2 months and a day from date of liability - authorised person will issue a CLE 2/6 and vehicle will be seized and recovered. I would write in to the Chief Constable, quote the Act above and explain the situation and how much anxiety and distress the incident has caused you along with th
  6. I looked into this as it wasn't policy when I was working. It seems that a lot of the devolved powers that went from the police to local authorities, etc have been handed back. The DVLA Devolved Powers Act came in after I'd left. If you check the legislation they can only sieze a vehicle that is at least 2 months out of tax. You say that it was only 2 days out so unless there was something else, like no insurance, they have acted unlawfully. If that is the case then you might be entitled to some compo'.
  7. Or being eaten alive by the rats.
  8. The vans are usually manned by civilians, not police officers. That was the point I was making to Wilf who seems to think bobbies still go around checking tax discs.
  9. The Dutch farmers have been shafted for years. Many have been forced to reduce their herds through environmental pressure. Man must eat and this man ain't eating vegan that's for sure.
  10. They didn't really hand over ower in that way. When we joined the EEC there were no political sides to it. All that came later step by step. Each agreement took away a little more sovereignty. The national politicians were grateful that many of the unpopular laws introduced could be blamed on Brussels even though the same laws would have had to be implemented nationally. We sleep walked into it bit by bit. Now the tail is wagging the dog and the European people are increasingly starting to wake up to the reality. If it wasn't for Covid and Ukraine the EU would be at war with itself as national
  11. When you look at the regulations it is a joke. They claim that cows create methane so the numbers in the EU need to be reduced. All that will do is open up a market for non-EU exporters. The world will still have methane production, but it will just be elsewhere.
  12. There is much more to it than MEP's expenses. The way the EU operates is to recruit poor countries, cut them off from their traditional suppliers, give them a load of cash which they then have to spend on EU manufactured goods. The cash they get comes from the richer EU members who then get it back in exports. That keeps their industries busy. That works fine for Germany, Italy and France for example as they have industries and / or farming. The UK is not a manufacturing or farming exporter to the same degree. So the UK doesn't benefit from the money go round that the other three enjoy.
  13. What you haven't factored in is that the UK is no longer subsidising German and French industries. Or that the UK Manufacturers who only serve the hk e market aren't bound by regulations based on EU protectionism. There are a lot mkre benefits too. As for what has changed; given that the post Brexit period has been dominated by Covid and now Ukraine, how can a fair assessment be made?
  14. You could also ask what terms of Brexit including The Good Friday Agreement the EU entered in good faith.
  15. And he hasn't declared his own business interests. So much for transparency.
  16. Care to offer some explanation or alternative opinion?
  17. There are some very big issues that are going to have to be addressed including uncontrolled immigration and the unemployment situation. The country cannot afford either long term.
  18. I do. They come across as aggressive, but when push came to shove on the Indian border they folded.
  19. In 1940 the Chinese population was around 500 million. Japan's was around 70 million yet they wiped the floor with the Chinese. And that was before tactical nukes.
  20. It couldn't be. The EU have played dirty all along and prolonged every negotiation. They have used the Irish situation not only to thwart Brexit, but to undermine the UK Government. There is no reason the Irish border cannot be as soff as the Swiss border is. But they wouldn't allow it.
  21. Noooh! You have a new song now. It is based on the tune to Abba's Fernando and starts; Has anyone seen Ronaldo?........

Couldn't be further from the truth in our experience. The biggest down sides to living out here is the cost of living and the increasingly complicated beaurocracy much of which is now done online on governmental websites that seem to have been created by amateurs. But the people are lovely.
  23. Don't shed a tear for the Conservative Party. There are a lot worse off than them. Labour for example. The Ukrainians and what about those poor feckers at Old Trafford? Nobody wants to go there and now Ronnie has gone AWOL. Its them I feel sorry for.
