Do you dry or bake the cane first or use it raw? I baked a section in our gas bbq to make a handle for a rod and it lost around a third of its weight. btw - Cruella has become dog legged. She has an area of delamination in the tip section. ?

Yes. There is a 4 acre lake that was origjnally a farm reservoir. The farm has moved leaving the lake stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Nobody fishes it except me. How the bass got in is a mystery as it isn't connected to any river system. But neither is another customer's pond and that now has pumpkinseed fish in it.

I have customers who have a half acre koi pond about 50 metres from their holiday home. The frogs are so loud at night that they activated the noise sensor on their burglar alarm. They couldn't sleep in summer because of the noise. John bought a co powered bb pistol and red dot sight and used to go out at night and pop them off around the pond. But it didn't have any affect on the noise levels. In desperation 2 years ago they asked if I could help. All words. Turkey wouldn't allow it through. They have stopped any Russian warships entering the Black Sea because of this conflict and would do the same for any other country's warships.

I read that an invading force needed something like 3 times the armed forces of the country they were invading. Russian troop numbers were barely more than Ukraine. They havn't been able to use their air force to patrol the Ukrainian air space because of the high losses by ground to air missiles. All in all Russia's strength has been over exagerated for decades to suit our goverment and the States purpose.

There was a program on tv a few years ago about the situation in parts of Sheffield, former steel works areas that are now home to immigrants. There was a young black lad straight out of a dinghy who found a flat in a terrace house run by a dry Yorkshire wag. The landlord asked his new tennant how he was settling in. The lad replied that the flat was OK but there were too many foreigners in the area. He asked the landlord if he knew of a city that was 90% British? After a few seconds thought the landlord said; Benidorm ?? -

The idyl was broken about 20 minutes ago when a pregnant black rat interruped our BBQ ? It appeared through the railings so must have climbed up the wall using the drainpipe. Luckily it didn't go through the open patio door. -

We had intended to retire to Cyprus. We had an apartment there and a lot of local friends. One of them moved to France and kept telling us that it was so much better than Cyprus. We stayed in his cottage a few times and realised that it suited us. Why? The weather, the fishing, the tranquility, but mostly the relaxed civilised way of life. For example I have customers with holiday homes who leave their patio furniture and ride on mowers out in full view while they are in the UK and it never gets touched. I park my car in remote locations while I am fishing and am confident that it will be unto -

There are whole villages out here populated entirely by Brits and others by Dutch. The thing is that we take our culture with us just as the Asians and Africans have done in the UK. We as a race are just as guilty in frequenting British tea rooms and pubs and failing to integrate in the French society. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Depends on whether you are a supermarket or DIY shop owner who's main stream of income are Brits, or a doctor or nurse trying to deal with a patient who doesn't speak a word of French despite having been here 10 years. I worked shifts including days, afters and nights on all 7 days driving round urban areas over around 25 years and never saw one. Yet I know people who were summoned to court for not having a licence. So, my guess is that the BBC snooper used to drive round in a car at night looking for the flickering light from tv sets in the addresses of those with no licence. Then knock on the door and blag their way in.

All those people they employ to send nasty letters to non licence holders will have to be retrained to send begging letters to advertisers.

If they are using the beech or pine martens that we have over here then they are mad. For one thing they are huge. I used to have a large polecat ferret and these things are much bigger than he was. And the other thing is that they are absolutely savage. I can't imagine they could be domesticated like ferrets are. I wouldn't like to get one of them down my trousers ? -
They don't appear to be aware that other channels manage to do what they doing and do it better without taxing the public.

Roast chicken on Sunday. Chicken stir-fry yesterday, and risotto made with chicken stock and left overs today ? The red label chickens from Lidl are pretty good value.
