young hounds are more likely to riot when drawing cover so the huntsman and whips should be there and see the signs before it happens that's the difference between good huntsman and bad a good one never assumes their stock proof when hounds are hunting pups would be more concerned about keeping up with older hounds on a hunt. whippet things might be different with you yes in some parts of wales we have a lot of rush beds and furny banks with single sheep in them springing out of them which young hounds early on in season can't resist temptation that's why they should be put in them situations
-
No first season hounds or second season hounds you can put up life on with sheep in my opinion it would take a very dull huntsman to think that they are safe . ItTakes many situations to make them sound and without them being in situations they will never be sound and a sheep in a pen at kennels would be nothing in comparison like a little scabby single sheep running down a hillside on very windy day . Or a sheep full of maggots running from a rush bed a good huntsman will be on top of his young hounds in those situations . Sorry whippet man I disagree with your comments totaly

The big boys don't like it when you fire a few home truths into them Neil had one dog killed because he entered two dog in Bury then did it again after and writes about it on here and moans of people putting photos up just don't get it funny how people on here got they clicky friends and happy when things goes their way and everyone else doesn't know how to manage terrier but them
-
I've done quite a bit of terrier work Neil but nothing as much as you
-
Don't get up tight Neil I know the score just I am bored and sad and love to get a reaction and if I was so inexperienced how do I know how to bring the best out of you no hard feelings we'll move on just remembered now you've said you have doubled up twice I just can't see any excuse for it what so ever. Funny when a popular guy as done it a few come out of wood work and say it is ok because you had a excuse shameful I think
-
Stiring shit not me it's in black and white on here Neil saying is self about him doubling dogs whys that stiring don't cry fat man
-
I don't know what the fuss is about Neil openly admits in a post of entering another dog after another

You normally find the riffle men are failed dog men or too old to hunt with dogs so spoil a young man's fun that is willing to work hard to make young dogs riffles are killing our sport shooting too many numbers of foxes and shooting foxes with riffle is far from what I would call sport. easy too bate a field and wait with night sights fox don't even know your there. Sooner they ban shooting a riffle at night the better only a matter of time before someone gets killed.

Books are not for me I like to see things with my own eyes I don't plan on writing any soon. My point is if you have done it you wouldn't have to think too hard of what your going to write like for instance off the cuff your first book would be mosby greatest digging days now if you haven't dug a lot it would be hard wouldn't it

Who mentioned lambs aborted the farmer had beef with hunt and shot two innocent hounds I think a ewe would have to be in bad stress to abort lambs farmers who know nothing about hunting normally just panic about hounds you see them then putting three sheep dogs out to gather them heavy in lamb sheepdog hanging on their tails till their on yard funny that. Many hunts for years in Wales are called to foxes taking lambs and start in the lambing fields to find the drag of the culprit. Some people on the hunting life can't be real siding with a farmer shooting our four legged loyal friends I m

I find it hard for someone to be commenting on dogs they only use for bushing and haven't worked properly for many years and it's obvious that the dogs are way to big now just by looking at them I find that silly alun
-
I read so much rubbish on here I can't keep track of it all its a good job what I read sometimes on here doesn't sink in properly and get mixed up with who writes what. I do think you should be in bushing section now though alun
-
No ill be corrected sorry allun morton wrote the absolute rubbish
-
Bolted foxes without getting bit fact does that make it a legend and you say a terrier man entered another terrier where was you to stop him I just can't believe half I read
-
Why specific the hight of a dog morton. A dog is governed where it can go by the girth of its chest it's long legs will tuck behind as you obviously know. and alun you did the same in your post why and I was talking of dogs of today in my first post not a dog of the 70s like am in the understanding now that there are no pure working beddys just the cart horses of today which couldn't get up a 12" pipe and as for catching squatting hares on a more my mates partially blind 12 yearold spaniel caught one squatting in a forest fact. And big alun if you are stupid enough to leave a man put a dog
-
Fare enough mate I must have only seen big Bedlington I never saw the bitch your talking about but has the size of the Bedlington gone bigger from the 70s the one I see today I honesty would never think they would get on in most places I have dug without making hard work of things
-
Mosby it's easy to put a book together if you have honestly done it and have a good memory and understanding of dogs if you have to lie and get stories off men you don't even really know then it would become hard and then a joke. And the post is not directed at you cause I don't know you
-
Alan not knocking you mate each to their own obviously you like the breed for whatever reason and let me say I kind of like the look of the dog but sorry I just can't see what use they could be without another dog being better suited like bushing let's face it a spaniel would be far better suited and for ground work let's face it most are far too big what ever quarry they will be used for if you want a earth dog you couldn't argue that something different would be better suited but I repeat I'm not knocking you keep what you like maybe you could be honest with me and tell me why you keep th

That's why you can use harriers on that country but don't get me wrong harriers I think are very good hounds with very good noses that is why they are used for hare they say hare scent is weaker than a fox
-
Can you remember the last time you seen one on the hunt country your talking about goat or have you ever seen any there my point being their in abundance in some parts of Ireland where they hunt the harrier
