  1. That's £160/acre/year. What you growing on that to make a profit? I wasn't making a profit, I was hanging onto my tiny flock. I had to move, this was the only ground that I could walk to in the snow etc. I spent years building a pedigree flock and was keeping them somehow! I had to reduce the size somewhat but I kept my best, ate the rest. But to me it was worth it, I turned it into wild flower meadows, had my fair share of bunnies and birds off it. It was a private haven for me too, I could go there whenever life got too hectic, just me an the dog and me sheep! Had a little caravan tuc
  2. I'll probably get jumped on for this but..... If you are only walking the dog at this moment, and not working it may I suggest that whilst putting other training/corrections in place you use a basket muzzle and a long line on it? It won't stop the chasing, it won't stop the sheep getting stressed and personally I would be royally fecked off if these were my sheep BUT if I had a dog amongst my sheep that the owner had muzzled and long lined I could at least try to understand that the owner was doing all he could to prevent damage. Stress can kill em, but a maggoty dog bite on hill sheep is a
  3. My first offer of 'rent' is a lamb for the freezer and the erection and maintainence of fencing etc. Generally you find people renting bits like this out cos they havent got the time to keep it nice. If that isn't accepted then I offer £100 per acre per year, dunno what the going rate up there is though.. The most I have paid was £60 per month for 4.5 acres with a barn, but it was teeming with rabbits and pheasants so I never bought meat lol!
  4. So far away from me it's almost foreign but could be worth a look for someone? http://www.spareground.co.uk/view.php?spListingId=287
  5. I used to find a lot of what he said interesting and it did make ya stop and think... Then he rocked up at Glstonbury Tor one afternoon proclaiming he was Jesus and generally terrifying the kids who where up there on a trip with his manic behaviour. Shame cos if he wasn't mad as a box of frogs people would be more inclined to listen and think about what he has to say...
  6. Personally I would be more concerned about the practice of mulesing in NZ sheep. No requirement for pain relief if carried out before 6 months according to the 2013 regs. Airy fairy hippy ideals or not, sheep feel pain and you cannot tell me that cutting away a plate sized area of skin around the dock with no anaethesia is not incredibly painful. Throat slitting would be less traumatic IMO. FFS keep sheep clean and parasite free if you want to avoid the fly. Sorry for going off topic, but that's my reasons for not buying NZ lamb.
  7. Fab meeting you and your mates tonight, i hope foxy is nervous now about the coming nights lol! You and yer mates are welcome on my ground any time! Cheers

  10. I live out on the Somerset levels and in the last week have gon from 20 + hens to 8 There is a vixen and 4 cubs in the field next door and they make their way on to my ground daily. All hours and don't give a toss about us.I have tried a trap. but they aint going for it. Can anyone help me out? I don't have a FAC so can't deal with this myself. My landlord has said if I can get someone he will give permission. the fell who owns the field next door will do likewise. I can't afford a huge amount, but will gladly pay a bit and let you share my fishing/ferretting perms etc in return. You can
  11. Terry Pratchett had it right when he said if cats looked like toads we'd all realise what spiteful little b*****ds they really are. But they have glamour so we think they are cute and fuzzy!
  12. See alot of em at the very end of the road by Brean Down but dunno how good it is. If you fancy a go on the river I'm near Wedmore and will share my spots with you if you like?
  13. Gets confusing with the good growing conditions we've had this year. I pick common hogweed every day for the rabbits, it's their absolute favourite, but the stuff has grown MASSIVE this year, I find the giant hogweed stinks if you even get near it. There is one plant of the giant hogweed near me, and everything avoids it. The common stuff i have to fight the cattle and deer for lol!
  14. Were you not heart broken? There is nothing worse than deceit. You must of felt humiliated and degraded.. if you have moved on you would be divorcing with all haste.. Ok I have watched a lot of old Frasure repeats.... Yup, he ripped me to bits, I always said I could cope with anything except lies, but he thought I'd let it pass. So I slung his sorry arse out. I spent enough on him paying the rent, all the bills working 3 jobs etc, whilst he did bugger all. I ain't paying for a divorce as well. I have moved on, but i am not spending another penny on him. If he wants a divorce he can pay
  15. Every woman should learn how to piss standing up
  16. Yay! A suprise late lamb, cracking tup lamb too :D

  17. nice to see you took it in your stride Well, no point getting upset is there? lol!
  18. Worked wonders for his married life eh? I bet his missus don't know about her! Nor do I reckon he'd be ok with her having a decent shag on the side Be warned though, when finding out he can't keep his cock in his pants we don't all dissolve into heart broken tears.... I pissed in the petrol tank of his motor bike, shot his entire antique porcelain collection, gave his number in reply to certain types of adult adverts then sold my wedding dress for extortionate amounts of Jamesons and had the time of my life! Plus I changed my name by deed poll rather than divorce the lying b*****d, so h
  19. Is that near Berrow? Only asking so I know to avoid if them ugly feckers are washing up there! **Shudders**
  20. if there was only a small amount of bait, the cockerels (if they are like mine) may have given the hens the 'treat'. If I give my lot something tasty the cockerels will pick at it and call they hens over then pass it to them without eating any.
  21. Oh no, you don't want to be keeping a pup like that! You should send him to me ASAP lol! Stunning creature, you should be well chuffed (Always had a soft spot for merles)
  22. I breed my own for the table, the dog and the ferts. I feed em on a few pellets and feck loads of weeds. Damn cheap way of getting good meat and compost
  23. Yep they especially like lard I buy a pack of it. unwrap it and shove it on a spike, they visit a few times a day, and on the hour almost during winter.
  24. Diazepan made mine worse :/ Couldn't leave the house for 3 weeks. I feel for you mate I really do... I was put on fluoxetine (prozac) and it really really helped. BUT the doctors have now cocked up my script and I can't get any for a month. HAndy that after taking 40 mg a day for 7 years and being told never to just stop them! I looked into it and discovered that St Johns wort has almost identical properties as prozac. I have been taking it now for a week with no prozac (not to be reccommended but what do ya do when you run out and they won't give you any?) I am a new woman! No depressi
