I've had Russells that have been less than perfect when it came to working with other dogs, particularly on ratting days. They were fine with each other, but could be a pain on occasions when a mate would want to bring their own terriers. To be fair to mine they only used to become touchy if another dog would try and join in a kill and do the silly tug war thing, all of mine would switch off a rat if another terrier beat them to it. But I would never have considered such an extreme action of adding a none working terrier breed to resolve the problem. A bit like mixing whiskey with water.

...the sorrow and suffering, the glory the pain, the killing and dying, was all done in vain?..." of course it was because it happens again and again, and again and again. God bless you Tatiana Tits.

I find your comments rather distasteful as my friend is genuinely concerned about Tatiana Tits and is in credit to the amount of 207 tokens!

Just notice this and don't watch the news but as it has obviously all kicked off over there does anyone know what impact it may have on the Ukrainian webcam girls getting online? Asking for a friend.

Cracking looking pups them stop.end. As Borr commented they have an old fashioned Sealyham look to them.

That could be interpreted as a metaphor for modern life in the developed world in general. People doing pointless shit to impress other people who judge the pointless shit.

Wind chimes. I was reminded of how much I hate the things today when out walking and noticing the damage that last week's high winds had done. Being serenaded in the background everywhere I went by the sound of bloody wind chimes. How come roofs have gone, fences damaged and trees blown over but the wind chimes managed to survive? That's f***ing ironic!

The Sopranos season 6 The Sopranos being 1 of the best TV series ever. I fell in love with it 1st series (season) and managed to watch most of it when broadcast on Channel 4. Subsequent series caught the odd episode then bought them on VHS. Series 6 I made the decision to not even try and catch it on TV and just enjoy it all when it became available on VHS or by that time DVD. But never did. Bought season 6 last weekend on Amazon, watched episodes 1 & 2 and loved it. Now the weekend is here I'm planning to carry on. Then something dawned on me. I have many unseen episodes, t

Get a Chromebook and don't learn how to use it properly. I did that and every time the battery goes flat I lose everything. Once plugged into 230v and try to log onto THL I need to enter password. Don't know password so try reset password. 1st thing you need to do then is enter last known password. I never know last password, that's why I want to reset it. Eventually I get there but while all this is going on there are so many important things that I wanted to post but never get posted because I forgotten what I was thinking when I tried to log on before the whole enter password thing. Hope th

Unlucky or more talented than the "lucky" ones?

All I have now is an old terrier and have not owned a lurcher myself for many a year. Even "back in the day" I tended to have terriers rather than lurchers but have been fortunate to have had some good hunting partners who kept lurchers and whippets so all bases were covered and I also had the pleasure of seeing their dogs work and run. The present terrier will be probably be my last for the foreseeable as he has not been given the chances to realise his full potential for various reasons. I wont waste another well bred terrier but at the same time would not really want to keep a terrier

Something that has always captured the imagination of people, Hound of the Baskervilles kind of thing... and going back centuries before that.

A romantic idea but I would think the thing that would drive a dog most in that type of situation would be to seek out people, as has happened, unless it has experienced things that made it want to avoid people and then I imagine, depending where it was, it would be shot before developing skills to fend for itself in the wild even it were capable. In the UK anyway.

You wrote "honest and loyal", nothing more required from a dog.

Top picture: your grand dad has been cloned. Went for my haircut today and everyone in the shop was his spit. Bottom picture: Ned Kelly the early days?

I have owned a Pro Sport for a few years. Nicest rifle that I've ever owned or used, air powered or other. Just a very nice thing to shoot.

We have been trying to colour black and white photographs as soon as we perfected the technology of creating them. Some of the old ones are better in monochrome, some benefit from colour. There's no rules. It's all good.

Keep it up though. Still a creative thing to do. Fair play to you.

Interesting photograph. The dog has a very saluki look to it but an old picture. Not the canny collie types that we tend to associate with traveller people from the past.
