Bob have a look at the Pacdog collars my dog was exact same running off and trying to play with every dog he met only problem was all dogs aren't friendly I got a pac dog collar and handset followed the instructions to the letter and it worked for me I just worked on his recall now he is spot on stops them chasing or running up to joggers cyclists ect as well hope this helps?

Gilbert I have a part merle dog here now 10 generation line bred collie grey same stamp as them feathered ears and tail long collie type coat lot of lads asked if he has any saluki blood just by looks i know there is none in this line at all I think it must be the collie genes throwing back true to type

Joke right split cane could be Hardys or a lot of people used to get them custom made back in the day regarding the reel I wouldn't polish it as if you are going to sell it think the buyers and collectors like the aged look Petina I think they call it if you are gonna sell it put in on e bay and see how it goes I got £50 for one last year without a reel lot of places buy them for displaying on walls country pubs ect hope this helps??
  4. Hi rabid what I meant by hill loch was you need to walk out and into the hills to find them just like a lake out in the hills the one I fished for pike was over the hills near portsonnachan or fish the bay's on the loch itself try and get some local knowledge tight lines?

Ok rabid fished loch awe few times good big trout too be had if your taking your boat it's a big water but try spinning the margins with brown trout rapala countdown lures or number 3 mepps spinners also orange and black tazmanian Devils flying c works well too you can troll with these too there's a good hill loch for pike at port sonnachan on the other side had some double figure pike from it float fished dead bait joey mackerel if you have trouble finding the hill loch ask a local you can't beat local knowledge hope this helps?

Hi jas maybe try and find some local Lurcher men and ask to tag along with them out lamping or ferreting and take it all in maybe try and get a ferret first and some purse nets and do the horse paddocks with them try and get clued up on lurchers ect and their different crosses to see what you like before you get a dog as its a big commitment training feeding ect all the best?

Vet that did mine was fair with me told me some vets charge to find out if they have taken the right part out apparently if they look under a microscope at the piece they removed they can see the live sperm moving about then they know they have the right part so £71 to look under a microscope is just an excuse to fleece more cash from you ?

Yes flacko they are spot on warm and dry all the time had mine on the hill stalking in wet heather and bracken had them on ferreting in the snow so far so good Dedito recomend giving them a going over with a good boot balm every other month just the same as any other boot I suppose I'm a size 7 and the guy recommended going half size up so got 7& half they are snug fitting but not too tight but real comfortable lets you wear a thick sock if you want I wear merino wool hiking socks they are not too thick just nice all in all I'm pleased with them ?
  14. Took my hob to vets yesterday got vasectomy done got talking to vet turns out he does a bit of ferreting himself bolting them to his goshawks. Op went well all done not much change out of £100 2month till he's sterile then I will bring the Jill's out of season with him by then we will be into April after that I will pimp him out and try and recoup some of my cash cos I'm a misreble git ???

Got two 50 yard long nets here all I do is ring off the warrens with them about 10 15 yards out from nearest holes and drop the ferts in stand back out the way most of the land I do is open hill when I'm using them at night I just take note of where the rabbits run to when they are disturbed gaps in a hedge gates gaps at the edge of woods etc then wait till a good windy moonless night and quietly run the net out between the escape routes walk round behind the feeding rabbits and walk them into it walk along the net and despatch any that are caught try to get a copy of long netting from peg to

Ok lads looking for good batteries for my 8 foot locator collar the standard one that takes one battery what do you reckon are the best brands and where to get them got the collar from e bay but the battery's they sent with it are garbage and not even the same type one says L R 44 on it and the other says ag 13 they are the same size and thickness but don't last long just looking for a good battery thanks for any replies?

Pleased for you mate started my collie x last September when he was a year old trained him to come back when lamp off before I even took him to the fields got his retrieve spot on too went out September lots of young green rabbits that had never seen a lamp good windy nights no moon rabbits sat well out most of them clamp down then I would just walk right out up to them and put the dog right on top of them dog soon learns to watch the beam gives the dog confidence few runs and home personally wouldn't go out with another dog as it can start the pup yapping with exicitement at seeing the other
  19. Thanks bob got him booked in for early next week vet says 7 or8 weeks after op he should be OK to use on the Jill's so yes 2 months apparently it's to allow for any stray sperm to die off as it can survive for some time
  20. Been on the phone today to a few vets £82 was cheapest I could find local vets next village to mine have to go for a free consultation and health check then they will give me a date for the op any of you know how affective this op is ?
