    Love that coast around there mate.. Blackpool, Slapton and down to Beesands. Coincidentally I was going through some old emails yesterday and stumbled across this pic of my eldest daughter in the Start Bay Inn from a our first visit there. She'll be 18 in July!! Time waits for no man as they say!!?

    The nearest Reed beds a good mile away from here in opposite directions. Funnily enough one of those places is where I saw my first and only Bitten early on morning walking the dogs.. must be over 20 years ago! Funnily enough we did have walk around a decent sized lake with Reeds in places yesterday morning and I uses the app briefly going around there so I'm just wondering if that's where the recording came from and the app has had bit and just logged it wrong.     Yes.. cracking app this is. I've just had it recording for 2 minutes whilst I put the bbq away apparently it's picked a Bitten up. I'm not convinced about that to be honest.. very very unlikely here unless one flew over calling or something. The Bitten also has a red dot at side of it on the list if anyone knows what this means??

    Thanks matey! Yes.. we've still got our 'L' plates.. and will have for a while I should imagine. Learning all the time though. First things I'd do to go lighter is take a dehydrated meal and filter some water from up there. Just carry a bottle for the hike out. Got the walk up here and the elevation graph.. that climb though!!?

    Few more from this morning. My mate isn't a big drinker and 4 strong cans of cider pretty much wiped him out last night. He was feeling it this morning!! Lol.. I doubled up on the porridge for for breakfast. Tipped one pot into another and taped it up for a more realistic sized portion. Enjoyed it.

    Really enjoyed it last night. Was hard work with the big pack on. Never weighed it but it was heavy with all the gear, food and at least 4 ltrs of ltrs of water and cider. It's straight uphill almost from the too.. a really long steep climb to get the ticker going. Was had finding a pitch along the southern edge that was big enough for 2 tents and wasn't deep heather, boggy or sloping and we also needed shelter from the wind.. it was very windy. Said 25 mph on forecast but seemed more than that at 2000 ft up! And the visibility was poor as the cloud was down. Eventually found a very little spo

    Pretty much the same here mate!! I remember years ago our Doris getting me 4 Kestrels. I was only on the second can and i was lifting the slabs up.. she was going under!! Lol. I live like the pope during the week.. and Lemmy at the weekend!!
