ive had both 22 and 177 in 12ftlb form. rapids mk 1 and 2. daystate, air arms, and i only use to use 22 in till i tryed my brothers 177 s410k air arms. i got one myself after that and would never go back to 22 in 12ftlb form now. 177 i find is better ive had doves out to 40 yards with it, and rabbits at 35 to 40 yards. i have 22 s10 in fac at 28ftlb and that is a great bit of kit. rabbits over 50 yards and pigeons and doves and magpies, over 50 yards to. get what suites you best mate. and put the time in on some targets saying that i still have a mk1 rapid in 22 cal at 12ftlb, its pictur

Hi Snelly ...the moderator....blast residue seems to be coming out of the joint at the front..have you had it apart..perhaps it was just not tightened up enough during manufacturer. Either that or maybe you have been firing into a very strong wind! Cheers i have a sak and it does the same thing mate. the blast residue leaks out the front and back abit. no matter how tight you do it up. i dont use it anymore as i have a dm80 now on mine. the hmr does burn the inside of the sak abit after alot of use. but i found it done a good job on the hmr. but not up to the same build as the dm8

over £300 if its in good nick then work up on the price if he says no

i wouldnt no about wales mate sorry. but i live in worcester and come under west mercia. i have mentoring on rimfire never mind centrefire ! my feo said i wouldnt get a centrefire on 1st grant. but could apply for one after 3 months. as i havent needed the centrfire till now i wasnt bothered about it really as i just wanted hmr and 22lr for now. but now need a centrefire for fox control. ive filled in for a variation now asked for 223 centrfire buy 200 ammo keep 300 that is more then i would need as i wouldnt be using it that much really. but ive asked for my ammo to be raised on hmr and -
dont look at it if you dont like it muppet

depends on how much money you want to spend. you could get the annie 1417 that is a lovely rifle and one on the best you can get. i got the cz style in the end and must admit im glad i did. its got a 16inch barrel so its perfect for shooting from a 4x4. and its spot on to 5 shot group at 50 yards all touching. and even at 100 yards all in the size of a 10 pence piece. the only thing i done to it was fit a brooks trigger kit and it makes a good rifle even better. and dont forget the exta money you would spend on a annie if you went for one. you could buy a nice scope to for the cz good luc

both top scopes. i would go to a shop and look at both and see which one you like the best. but if it was me i would go for the Swarovski scope. only because ive used one and they are superb

ive been lucky to go shooting with a friend of mine that has had gen2+ and gen 3 night vision. and it is very good dont get me wrong. but i perfer the lamp there seams more fun in it. and i think its safer to at the same time plus if there is two of you inless the shooters mate has a spoting night scope then there is no fun to be had for him.

the farmers where i shoot dont mind the noise. but im going to get a ase cqb for it anyway so it should do a good job on 223 or 22/250
-
will do cheers snap shot take care. atb jamie

cheers snap shot. i think what you have said is good advise mate cheers. i have done abit of shooting with 223 and liked it my friend placed some small targets up for me at different ranges up to 285 yards which i hit even at 285. but that was with him telling me where to aim on the crosshairs of the scope at that range. i hit 3 out of 5 so it wasnt luck i havent had the chance to shoot a 22/250 yet. but a friend of my mates has a steyr ssg 22/250 and he said i could go and have a shoot with it. but as he lives up in nottingham i havent the time at the moment to go there. but im looking

cheers for the replys lads. i think a 243 would be good to have. but as ive only had my ticket 7 months i cant see them granting me one just yet. if i want to shoot deer then i would have to pass a course 1st as in west mercia where i come under they are abit funny about these sort of things. and if i said i would add deer to the ticket later the feo would just say well get 243 late and have ie'' 222 223 or 22/250 for now the 222 is a great foxing gun but ive heard ammo can be hard to get at times round here for it. and there isnt as many brands to buy for the 222 as there is for the 223.

how much mate ? i have cash waiting have you any pictures

hi guys im going for a centrefire rifle soon and im stuck on which rifle to go for. a 22/250 or 223 i no the 223 are good as my friend has one and as took some cracking shoots with it. the ammo is easy to get hold of and his shoots well with most ammo. i no the 22/250 as more range then a 223 but are they as good out the box ? as a 223 with factory ammo. im asking this as i wont be reloading my ammo as i wont be using one of these rifles as much as my rimfires. so what do you guys thing i should go for and what make rifles you think are the best ?

happy new year to you mate to. the hmr you sold me is wicked and the bushnell scope i put on it suites it well. eveytime i go to take a shot im just so use to it now i just no im going to hit what im aiming at !
-
i use the 17gr federal ammo mate. i find it the best in my annie 1517 hmr. ive had a couple of rabbits at 100 and 125 but this 140 was my best so far. and it was ranged on a leupold rx1 rangefinder. i allways go for head shots as i like to be able to eat the rabbits. or sell them on so they need to be good to eat. it helps that i have a nice bushnell 6x24x50 elite tactial scope on it to. its a top scope and is very clear i all so no where to aim on the mil-dots as ive been putting a load of target shooting in with it. i ad the mag on 16 and it go's to 24 but i never have it higher then 16 real

went out on sunday night with the hmr for a quick look around and bagged 4 rabbits all head shots one was at 140 yards which i was very pleased about. and the others where all over so im happy with how the rifle is shooting to say the least. god i love the hmr i think its a great little round. i will put pictures on later cant put the pictures up as i got home today my old man had skinned and bagged the rabbits and sold them!
