  1. I had a previous post about rats on here. I came back home after working away all year and my workshop/shed was snidded with them. They ate a load of my fishing gear and about 50kilo of boilies and pissed and shit all over everything. I set traps with chocolate, jam, peanut butter even mince pies and not a sausage. sat out with hw100 night after night from around 9-10pm till 1-3am watching baited spots and didnt see a single one yet still fresh droppings appearing in the shed. I put one pack of boilies back in the shed and first night they were into them so I set the trap with boilies and in
  2. Well having got my ticket in october I finally got out on the clays today at Park Lodge, Snaith. Out of 100 I must have only got 20-25. Im used to air rifle shooting static targets I wasnt expecting it to be as hard as it was. Much practice needed! Still, an enjoyable couple of hours and I will def be going back soon.
  3. Sussex get your facts right first there were chocolate genes in Labradors well before showing started but they were not really desirable so were often culled. There are chocolate field trial champions 2 have ran in the retriever championship in the past, Grangemead Flint was one of them. The biggest problem is generally speaking the trailers do not trial them.I was of the same opinion then had one show up in a litter I bred and decided to give her a go she is three now and I have problems keeping weight on her she is very fast intelligent soft mouthed and a good worker so perhaps I have the exce
  4. Does it need to be a pcp? I have sfs imp (modified hw99) and thats a brilliant little gun. light and very accurate.
  5. hyperactivity will come from a lack of mental stimulation, excersize alone is no good for a working dog. Shit eating tends to be due to a lack of something in the diet. A lot of time it is pottasium. Try feeding half a bananna a day to see if it stops the habit. If it carries on it could just be a dirty hound! I have yet to meet a thick lab. you get out what you put in. However there are always exceptions! (sure I will get hammered for that comment!)
  6. I have a chocolate lab as a family pet not a working dog and she is unbelievably intelligent and not lazy at all. First lab I have owned so do not have the experience to compare to a black or yellow. This being a hunting forum most will say go for black or yellow! I think it comes down to checkin the parents and line. Black and yellow are bred for the inteligence and work rate and as such are used as working dogs. chocolates are bred primarally as pets. Mine came from trials champions though so guess thats why she has some inteligence! My own opinion is if you are getting a working dog th
  7. I was advised by my mechanic that Isuzu troopers were good. the older 3.1diesel engine so pre 98 i think. I managed to pick one up for less than 1500quid and its brilliant. I absolutely love it. I went for swb so its 3 door but back seats fold down and then the base folds up to make it like a 2seater with open back if that makes sense? I bought it for fishin shootin and takin dogs out but I use it all the time now barely bother gettin car out anymore!
  8. Thanks for that pal but id already ordered it all! How did you end up mounting your monitir? Im struggling to find a 90 degree weaver mount so guna try and make something to mount it on.
  9. alrate fellas. You guys may have seen my other thread. I am planning on doing a home brew nv similar to roloids. I am waiting for all the parts to arrive. last bit to get is the 12/16 mm lens. two questions 1. from your own experiences which would you guys recommend? I know roloids says 12mm to get a full scope view, but is 16 better as you are filling the monitor screen? 2. does anyone have a 12 or 16mm lens spare for sale? you can pm me on that if you would prefer. Cheers guys. Oh, my battery came today so first component arrived just itching for the rest to come now!
  10. Nice on pal. Which camera did you use?
  11. It worked on laptop. Looks a tidy set up that pal. how did you make the section that holds the camera on the scope?
  12. I cant view this for some reason? Says private library
  13. I dont know until it all comes and I start playing but probably copy roloids and drill and tap some sort of 90 bracket off the weaver rail and mount it on that. been struggling to find a 90 degree bracket/adaptor though.
  14. what atyle did you go for? the camera clamped behind scope or in a tube on end of scope? any pics?
  15. It wont work on my phone. will try on laptop in a bit.
  16. Guessin I will need to buy a 12mm or 16mm lens aswell. First time so will have a look at it all when it arrives.

  18. another one for the lads who have made their own NV. Once you have your set up that you are happy with have you cut all cables down to length and rejointed to tidy them up or have you left at off the shelf length and just tied them up?
  19. well I was going with the ej230 with a 12mm lense. best price I found was about 95quid delivered then after a bit of trawling the web I found what seemed to be the same camera for 20quid on slow boat from china. Im not holding my breath though so probs end up buyin the ej230 in a few weeks time. Im basically planning on copying the roloids 1.0 with everything mounted on a weaverrail so I can take it all off in one piece. thats the plan but will see when it all arrives!
  20. Thanks bunny tickler but I aint on fbook pal. more hassle than its worth!
  21. and which torch would you guys recomend? was going with t20 but nightscout have a t38 on ebay that they say surpasses t20. thanks.
  22. right lads. been looking at various NVs and reading forums and watchin the roloids vids today. Decided to make a home brew NV. lookin to order the bits but I have a simple question. does the battery need multiple outputs, i.e. one for camera one for monitor or will the monitor be powered through the camera so battery only needs one feed out? Might be a daft question to u guys in the know! thanks ry
