Not well read half cut with the internet at my finger tips. To the god debate; maybe God set in motion the longest winded series of events ever known to create a creature in his own image. Then, when the time was right and we needed guidance, provided us with a scripture to help us along the right path. Just saying

Genghis Khan did a good job of this I believe,

They can but it takes a lot of reading, the pope himself acknowledged this, I have said it in all my posts, evolution does not remove religion. show's a path. Religion is there to guide people to do right, the ten commandments. don't cheat, steal, murder or generally be a d*ck, the only point you are focussing on is the 'made in his own image'. Your problem is thinking you are more important than the chimp, dog, cat or amoeba. We are all the same.

I was thinking about this today, and what I can do to make it happen. I worry if I put an idea forwards in defence it will lead to a step backwards. I.e. I can hunt rabbit but not rabbit... ban rabbit hunting...

not all of them-its only a theory..no im not a creationist..id say modern livestock and crops are a good example of evolution(but they are still cows or spuds or pigs)..theres no proof of one species evolving into something differnt. But there is, there is masses of it. You just don't want to see it. You can cross and Aylesbury with a mallard, a dog with a wolf, you can't cross a fox with a dog. It takes a long time of divergence and a chance successful genetic change to make it so species cannot interbreed. "You can cross and Aylesbury with a mallard" But it remains a duck "dog with a wolf

It isn't completely blind, it runs via very very minor advantages, that is each generation shows a 0.0001% better survival for a certain trait, over a million years that adds up to a new species, or two different species( because the difference is not strong enough for the other to fail). The thylacine is an example of divergent eveolution, like the hedgehog and the Madagascan Tenrecs. but what advantage would say, some creature halfway between a wallaby and a thylacine have(granted australia is a niche rich environment and isolated)..personally id say hormones could play a big part--m

By all means believe in god, don't use it to discredit science..

You stumped one man who didn't have an answer there and then:

Ans: IMO No god isn't a human being then please explain how we can be an image of him. its a question i have never had a satisfactory answer to Because some take the scripture as a literal statement. To me if I describe my own son as being in the image of me it doesn't mean I think he looks exactly like me, more so he has my traits, my character etc. and before you jump on "ah so God is our character" this is an analogy. Let me ask you a question if we are ALL a product of evolution why is no other creature out of the million or so species on thus planet able to communicate. NOT through b

To make that clearer I guess I see rabbit control as: Shooting/lamping Working the cover Working the warrens I might be wrong on this.

Might be the truth in this, I have an image of putting the ferrets in and the warren there after being dead, but the idea is different to reality

None of this discredits god if you will, it only discredits religious representatives who can't comprehend it and the power they hold.

Evolution does't happen in 'recent times' it takes many many years, if it happens in recent times it is usually because of dramatic changes to the environment.

Darwins finches: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin's_finches Tree frogs in relation to invasive species: http://gradworks.umi.com/34/83/3483206.html Species evolving to appear similar but not related: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divergent_evolution Genetics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetics Evolution is not linear it is a direct response to external influence. It is not total and species survive for as long as they can cling onto a niche.

i am not a pest controller, I have had a few years off and I am currently getting back into it. I have never kept ferrets, my dad did when I was a kid. I have always viewed rabbits shooting as skimming off the top and keeping them in check, I don't want to remove them. There are 3 or 4 small bits of land I hit hard 8/10 years ago (a few days/nights of a genuine 50 odd) that have never had rabbits in the same numbers again. Similarly this land always had a few on but is now starting to hold good numbers. Fook it, I'll hit it and see.

I must admit, after the post i questioned how she is bought up, and we spend a lot of time saying 'no' be it the table, firewood in the corner.... I have made a lot of progress, I'll get it on camera. I have a saluki whippet who is being bought up very differently, she brings things to me, doesn't need telling twice and I am bringing along in a more natural way. just involving her in everything I do.

I only post on this forum when I am drinking and now is the same.... But, I have no problem with religion in theory. A lot of people find community and comfort in it, I am personally an atheist and feel most people are c*nts But I have a massive problem when they start saying evolution isn't real, the simple fact is the can't comprehend the time scales involved and the small changes it takes. The pope himself has said he does not denounce evolution, I wouldn't say there isn't a 'god' behind the beginning because there isn't proof there isn't. In it's best form religion brin

I have been bringing on a terrier and a lurcher and increasingly I am looking to be more effective in my pest control. I am looking at getting some ferrets with a mate. I have about 150 acres of permission with more old permissions coming back in all the time, how much would you need as a hobby ferreter to keep you going all winter? My concern is I will wipe out what I have and not have anything else to go at. But I may pick up more work as I go along. There is what I have just looked at today 12 or more warrens varying from 4 - 20 holes on the land. I know it is a bit vagu

gundogs were bred for very similar roles to what is needed, I have read a hell of a lot about GWP and I think they have a lot to add to everything from lurchers to bushing dogs. I still think a lab would add to a good lamping dog.

Amazing how she turned out mate. Shame about her bad start but obviously you done her proud and her you..from the pic she looks like a good size and at first I thought it had some Alsatian in it due to the ears ad strong muzzle (might just be pic) either way she sounds like a handy tool to have had around . I always wished I had put her under a whippet. But she died aged 16 two years ago.

I was doing it , I was commuting 125 miles each way, 8hr day, plus driving, I did it for the training, took me 2 years and it has come good. I worked it out and some weeks I was working 80hrs. Have my own time, on average 70 mile each way, but can leave at 8am and come home for 2pm. Some office work, but have time to exercise the dogs and have a laugh.
