Elvis! First started sniffing round Priscilla when she was 14!! Funny how the likes of him, Wacko, Bill Wyman, and Prince Andrew effectively get a pass for the type of misdemeanours we’d generally (and rightly) be disgusted by. Seen all the rumour and speculation on SM. If David Jason has done wrong, hopefully he gets outed and punished before he nicks off and snuffs it scot free like Savile did. But if he’s totally innocent then hope his name is cleared asap. Must be the worst thing in the world to be accused of. Horrible feeling there’s no smoke etc.

Men died in two world wars so we’d have the freedom to stand cross armed in our underpants, on our own doorsteps, surveying all around us.., and without being gawped at by some nosey owd bugger over the road. Have a fcukin word wi yer sen man ?

Can’t stand watching those videos, fcukin blood pressure goes off the scale. If, as has been stated, this was a bike theft ‘gone wrong’ and the perpetrator elected to stab his way out of it, then in my eyes it’s pretty straight forward…, it should be a hanging offence. As mindless as it might seem, I’m much less offended by kids fighting, even stabbing each other over daft allegiances to their streets and towns etc. Young men stabbing indiscriminately over a bike worth a few hundred quid, we have zero need for in society. I would gladly support a police strategy to tackle these pe

As been said, hope its drawn out and painful. And I hope if there’s something after, he’s made to pay there as well. Cnut.

Think that means you’re gay ? I can see the grid lines on the red t-shirts, but yellow, green and blue are blocked out. Skin tones look in colour, unless I focus an area closely.
-
Have a look at this photo. If you have a closer look you’ll see it’s actually a black and white image, with coloured grids overlaid. Your brain fills in the colours by itself. Nuts ?

Wasn’t trying to dig you out, I maybe should have read more of the thread before jumping in. And I agree that ‘original sin’ weld defects would be a potential cause.., just maybe not as ‘common’ on a new pipeline. Although just how common might be determined by the quality control, as operator skill/human error is still a factor. Just as an aside to the topic, and talking about weld quality on pipelines, I came across this old documentary on the construction of the trans-Alaskan pipeline. I found it a fascinating watch, and there’s a bit about how the quality control of butt welds went horr

Think given the age of the pipeline, and modern welding technology and weld quality inspection , that there’s very little likelihood of a rogue weld defect being the culprit of an ‘accidental’ failure. Bit of footage of fabrication and testing on the lay barge here:

Apparently so. Shows a couple of goats taken and dragged over a cliff, as well as a few calves taken back to a chick in the nest.

Anyone watching it? Golden eagles dropping chamois to their death was brilliant. And the drone footage of an avalanche was one of the most spectacular sequences of film I think I’ve ever seen. Worth looking it up just for that.

Came across this wee clip taken from a motor on the streets of New York, comments suggest its circa June ‘45, so a few weeks after VE day, and a few before Hiroshima and Nagasaki were flattened. Anyway, I found it interesting. Wouldn’t mind one or any of those old cars now.

The love you leave, will be there after you’re gone…

You’re allowed to turn it off ffs. Angry old men hour again ? Let it all out, lest you have a heart attack. Talk about the fcukin snowflake generation

Think it’s fair to say the minutes applause for the queen at Hampden tonight got some support, but a fair bit of protestation too. Not sure why after the official 10 day mourning was over, it was done at all.

FOMO driving it. Seeing a lot of the mass hysteria we seen with Diana, albeit her death at a young age shocked people more. How the fcuk can someone travel from another country that doesn’t even have a monarchy, and wind up blubbing on live TV about someone they didn’t know, and who never even knew they existed? Talk about ‘sheeple’. Seen the BBC described yesterday as ‘MournHub’. That’s about right IMO.

Fast passes for MP’s and their families. There’s them, and then there’s us.

I only recently learned the origin of the word nonce. Always thought it was a derivative of ponce, or something else. Never knew it was from an acronym used in prison. Fits the bill well though.

Saw an interview with a woman in Edinburgh earlier, who had a load of the wristbands on you’re given when viewing the coffin in St Giles, saying she’d ‘been round’ 7 times…, as though she’d been on a ride at Alton Towers. Like it or not, a lot of people will turn out as much for the novelty as respect. It’s just the time we live in. At least they’ve banned any photography whilst she lies in state, otherwise the internet would be awash with grinning selfies with the coffin in the background.

Bang on. No sympathy at all for Andrew, but selfish to sully such an occasion for so many people.

VAR in the EPL came about because officials were effectively put on trial by TV after every televised game and again on MOTD. Pundits pouring over multiple camera angles, and toggling between frames showing a player had moved from fractionally on to offside, or vice versa over a few hundredths of a second, then digging out the linesman for not getting it right. Offside had become impossible to referee if you can’t accept less than 100% accuracy or what is humanly possible. Same with fouling.., a ref stood ten yards away can generally make a decent call on contact resulting in an infringem

Not 99.9% here. I think there would have been some vocal dissent at almost every game.., and that’s enough. I posted the shambles at Tynecastle on Thursday last week, a club widely accepted up here as being second only to the Rangers in their staunch support of the union. If they won’t observe it properly, then the games going ahead would have been an embarrassment. I don’t have ‘leave specs’. It’s possible to be patriotic without believing independence is the right road for Scotland. I’m definitely in the apathetic camp regards the monarchy though. Bit like all religion.., if other peopl
-
With all due respect Max, I think you’re letting the media and your own emotions cloud reality. Unionists will rinse and spin this situation for everything they can obviously. Tens of thousands is about right, but for the vast majority that weren’t rubber-necking and went about their lives yesterday as normal (as I witnessed with my own eyes) the queen dying means and changes nothing and they will remain indifferent at best to the monarchy. You’ve only got to look at most of the Scottish football forums to see the resentment at games called off and people being ‘forced to mourn’. Think many So

I said pretty much the same to my missus yesterday, that in her being driven the length of Scotland yesterday, it was a great advert for the ‘No’ to independence campaign.., and may well have been intended. It has certainly ‘involved’ the people in this country in the whole event of her death in a way that would never have happened if she’d died in the South of England. A second referendum for independence would likely be very close run again, and I agree that the events over the last few days would favour the campaign to remain in the union, and might even be enough to seal the win if the
