When the M69 was being built my old man worked on the Hinckley to Leicester stretch, One weekend i was at work with him and happened to be following one of the scrappers, I picked up dozens of Roman coins that day, No idea what happened to them though, Lol.

Anyway back on topic, Do these idiots believe by banning falconry then all red and amber list birds would make an immediate recovery! Licenses to take certain species of birds have been in the falconry world for over 50 years that i know too, In fact back then you could even apply for a license to take birds of prey from the wild. Again its a left wing, woke, knee jerk reaction without the bigger picture being looked at.

Funny you are mentioning spraying, when i was out with the dogs in the past, i found a good few birds whose eyes were covered in a blue like film they were just sat on the ground unable to fly, Jackdaws and rooks were the main species although i did once find a jay with the same symptom's, I have also recently found a couple of road kill hares down the lanes that had swollen eyes,

Otters are nomadic and opportunistic when it comes to food. Around here they use the canals as highways eating mainly the signal crayfish they contain but if an opportunity arises they will exploit that food resource until its depleted then move on.

It can take quite a while for a BOP to dispatch a rabbit depending on the species of bird, Size of the bird. experience of the bird and the size of the rabbit, Most of the time the falconer completes that task. How is that any different to a dog that retrieves live to hand! Absolutely Bonkers mate.

It depends how you look at it. Peak fitness i would say 4 to 6 but they also get clever as the get older, I had an old dog who at over 11 would still put stuff in the bag on a regular basis, Even lamping on short grass where he should have been straight lined every time but he learnt to crash the cover after the chase, probably a 50/50 success rate, On hare he would just potter about watching the other dog running then exploit any point where the hare had to cross ditches or through hedges.
