This topic has just made me realise im getting old and how my life has passed me by . I started the 80s as a 13 year old kid into madness ,specials and all the other two tone, ska stuff, a brief liking for adam and the ants ,and a serious crush on Debbie Harry . Then I started getting into bands that i thought the girls liked Paul young, Howard jones ,Human League ,Ultravox etc so I could use the old chestnut "I got the new album by so and so, my mums not in do you want to come back to my bedroom and listen to it " some good bands and some great times . And I ended the 80s with my first kid

It was ok . not a patch on the film, you could definately see the difference between the two directors Shane meadows parts (3 + 4 ) where much darker than the first 2 . and that was the problem it should have been a 2 hr film about the marriage of lol and woody , the child abuse/rape stuff and then the redemption of combo , and cut all the jokey crap , like the older women and the kid that looked like meggy and the scooter gang clowns . It didnt know weather to be serious or a comedy film and that was the problem .
