  1. Well yes but under that logic my appendix should be doing something other than being a potential timebomb... I wouldn't of removed them at all either, but after what my doby went through it would have been better for her to have had rid when a pup, working dogs are at a higher risk of catching them just die to the nature of what they do.
  2. I think everyone's backs up as the forum had a wonderful gentleman who obviously despised hunting and wanted to be smug over a hunters accidental death, oh and had some far torn love affection for squirrels... He then rejoined under a different name, I think they might be sniping at you as they think you may be another. I wouldn't worry, just takes awhile to get to know people here. welcome abroad! we need more females out in this sausage fest!
  3. I've heard that working dogs like lurchers esp have an issue with catching them and injuring them out in the field, then getting shy about things going near their legs. However healing time after removal can take a while so it would need an eye kept on it, and theres always the risk of an infection as with any surgery. Best to do it as pups as the op in adults is much harder on the dog. If your uneasy with the idea you can wrap them before they go out, we didn't get it done on our dobey but she did end up catching one bad one day and it took a few stitches to fix, the wound kept opening up too
  4. I agree, bloody beggars belief!
  5. Nope I'm pretty sure I come across to Joe public exactly how I want, are you suggesting that my comment about butchery is inaccurate? No I, m suggesting you know f**k all about intensive poultry production. Oh really? So in chicken mass production, if they are not stunned, strung up by their legs, throat slit by a rotary blade and then scalded to remove the feathers and processed, as I obviously wrongly had it my my head they did how does it all happen then hmm? Stood on the killing line and watched that ehh or just read it on google hmmm? Haha! Your assumptions are amusing. I supp

  8. There's be a lot more reds if people like you would stop giving me shit for knocking back the grays. WHO are NOT supposed to be here!
  9. Why is it anti all assume that anyone who shoots is an evil ****?! PERSONALLY I think its a shitload more cruel to buy that slab of sirloin from Asda than it is for me to knock off a bunny for stew! WHY? If you have to ask that question you know nothing about where food comes from, how its mass produced for the population and how the animals are treated when going for dispatch. The bunnys had a free life, and with my shots it knows nothing before the end is neigh. Like that chicken burger? Did you know that chicken lived for about 35 days, could barely stand as its been bred to pile o
  10. Lovely Sat evening planned cooking the local farms apple smoked sausages and then a few hours at the gun range.

  11. Argh whys the farmer got it in for you so bad?! That would annoy the hell out of me, you're not doing anything wrong.
  12. Have you heard of the technique of brain tanning? I've not yet tried it myself however its something I'm looking forward to having a crack at. Apparently all animals have enough brain to fully tan their own skins. Heres a website that covers the step by steps. http://www.braintan.com/articles/furs/miller1.html
  13. This is not far from where they hosted the edible garden show not long back, the drive up from down here was a long one but it may be worth it to go and have a gander and a chat with some veterans. Will be moving in a couple years then I've finally been promised the lurcher I've been whining on about for the past year =D
  14. Well thats my childhood officially ruined...cheers Harris
  15. This thread has had me in stitches! lmfao. I just clicked to see what the hell a god cage was, thought as a newbie it was some well kept pro secret I should be let in on!

Yes me either, Though I didn't manage to find anything it was a nice walk still.

  17. Feel for you, I remember putting our dog down when she had reached the end of her road and its not something that ever comes easy. Even though you know its for the best. Truly sad for you, shed a tear remembering how it made me feel and my dog was an old lady, to lose a young dog must be even worse. Best wishes, you can take comfort in the fact I can tell from the photos that was one loved and happy dog, short years will have been great.
  18. Nice clean shot, I enjoyed the video too. =)
  19. Hello My friend Hannah and I have been practising our aim on cans and would like to know if there is anybody around Dorset who wouldn't mind a couple of newbie tag alongs on a wood pigeon shoot while we find our feet. We share a Cheapy SMK carbine XS19. (Its the hunter deluxe version, I'm not talking about shotgun shooting) which we are pretty used to now so wouldn't be asking to handle anybody's rifles, just looking to learn the ropes really as we are both newbs bar the odd rabbit when I was younger with my dad. IWe live in Bournemouth, but have a car so can travel. =) Thanks Emi
  20. I get so angry reading stuff like this, those boys would have had potential if lead correctly, however they have obviously been left to be brought up by their "mates" on the street and this is what you get. Cold emotionless lads willing to murder just for pep points. Should jail the scumbag mother for perverting justice and those boys shouldn't be out until they are in their 50's!
  21. Yes I dont think it will be long before all hunting bar pest control is banned. =( Pleasure hunting is a bit broad. I personally don't get the kick out of pulling the trigger, my kick is the walk, tuning into nature, and once I've bagged a meal, its making it into a delicious recipe that I truly love! They assume all hunters get turned on by the kill itself, which I find personally offensive!
