good do lad! One of my ferrets nipped the end of my finger yesterday .......i had just pulled a rabbit out from under its nose and they dont have good eyesight so its to be expected sometimes when they think its a bunny!

i normally carry a trenching spade......but fancied travelling light! I have seen and used one of those screwfix spades....Oldblueeye or OBE (i think he is on here but dont know which name he uses?) has one, i joked about how the locator reading was in spade depths which is the same as feet To be honest my german army folding spade (which is always in my car anyway) was useful enough....and you can set the spade head at a right angle to use it as a scoop as you get deeper, it also has a small pick on the back of the spade head...in fact it was as useful as OBE's spoon sized screwfix j

started off on the furthest part of this small farm, its all tussocky grassland had a quick 7 out of a few small sets (as you can see the stick comes in uselful...it carried 11 at one point today) topped up to 11 rabbits in the next small warren then moved to the next field and a busy looking little 4 holer...netted up ferret in and rabbit out where's the ferret? put the other ferret in to see if that shook things up...no ....waited til i couldn't any more then locator out.......5 feet and the rabbit was still alive and between the two ferrets when i got d

I have been bushing several times this week with my pack....always in the light though! Rabbits will be venturing out from teh cover at night so it slightly dilutes the point of hunting the cover......then again for rats etc....also my dogs get enough injuries from brambles and thorns during the daylight....they could get a lot more during the dark......and as has been pointed out a dog going to ground....or any minor crisis is a lot worse in the dark!

Thing is its hard to create a law that states if you can handle your drink this is the limit and if you cant then this is teh limit! A law needs to say one thing and everyone able drinkers and otherwise need to stcik to it! The only way round what you are saying is the USA style sobreity tests....i.e. walking in a line, touching your nose with your eyes closed etc.........but the government like to be able to stipulate figures and have a law thats easy to interpret (sobriety tests are open to interpretation and what i might consider to be a pass others may consider a fail etc...) so i

the problems with Drink drive limits...is that other things than alcohol can affect your reading.....thats why there are limits (i.e. mouth washes can affect the reading-as can smoking immediately before it etc...) and then the readings aren't an exact science and the problem with including higher penalties for higher readings is that it affects us all differently depending on size (size of liver) so me at 6'02" and 19stone will have a lower reading for 2 pints than someone half my weight.......so although i agree in principle that the punishment should be more severe.......it would be har

This is the last post i am making here! Yes on teh stockwell thing the police shot teh wrong man!....however they thought he was an islamic extremist and they must have thought he was going to finish what the terror cell had messed up the day before when the bombs failed, they were thinking that he was one of them and yes they made an error! But when he heads into teh tube that would just confirm suspicions and if they hadn't of acted and he had of blown another train carriage up......we would be having a completely different conversation now.....not an easy decision to make.........a

Good luck to the Hindu Monks! it does beg the question how did they justify that when the monks were having the cow cared for by a vet? if they weren't doing anything i could understand....but again the RSPCA trample over a minority

Erm, which Muslims are these then Scothunter? Another one trying the band wagon........... Really no band wagon mate,it's just true thousands of people don't like coppers due to being mistreated by them.Greece would be nice for you compo, nice and slimy make you feel at home sort of place.Sorry chaps only playing with you so don't take it to heart and i will chill out as i'd hate for a copper or two to walk up to me on a tube train shoot me 7 times in the head, lie about it in court and get away with it.Just think what would have happened if a member of public did it,beggers belief c

Erm, which Muslims are these then Scothunter? Another one trying the band wagon........... Muslims dont like bacon or pigs In fact their another "group" that are being victimised by the police....but perhaps thats just a vocal minority of extremists who are upset at having their bombing campaigns disrupted etc......... i mentioned booking a holiday to Greece.....not that i am....and that seems to have taken a life of its own......doesn't anyone else watch the news? Police shot a kid.....riots etc.......it was a fecking joke

the most intelligent and thought out post on this entire thread and I include my own in that....and the last paragraph was what i hinted at before when i mentioned my Black friend and his quote "you cant change things from the outside" He joined after being stopped and assaulted by police

read my posts, i dont want anyone hasseling the lad......its a public warning shared info amongst a group of hunters regarding an ANTI giving Hunters grief....he doesn't care what my day job is.....but if he found out he would just use it to try and cause me more grief...not for what my job is but because he could and i'm a Hunter! And the one lad i do know who got sent to prison didn't deserve it......some others? maybe.......i dont defend people i dont know...i have just been around enough to know nothing is ever one sided and the media can "spin" things how they want/feel they should re

I am off to book a holiday in greece! seems i would have a better reception there edited to add thanks for all those who shared my concern and enjoyed the joke about the ANTI abusing me a HUNTER. I only put it up as i found it funny and glad some understood that. Glad people know who he is and have been warned and advised, and i hope no one sends him junk or causes him grief just wanted everyone to be aware thats all. happy hunting all!

I was a child when the miners strike was on! in fact i have close family who live in what was the mining village nearest to where i grew up....the old slag heaps are great rabbit havens and me and my brother used to have permission on there I think from your reply above your living in a long ago period in time.....and if you can't accept what i say from where i am in the world.....i cant do anything else to make you see the sense that i know.....walk a mile in the other man's shoes sometime and you may find there not that comfortable.....lots of old bill do get nicked and some even get cha

The only reason i aint as open as i would like to be is because of recriminations from others....not my fellow hunters...but anti's and others who would do us and me harm!
