  1. Kay never realised we were neighbours The last line says a lot ! As a mate of mine who happens to be black once said, "you dont change anything from the outside" obviously there were different politics at work for him, but he is a good lad all the same and i am sure that some of you would be impressed by his decision making! And the anti-police brigade on here dont understand how things work! An arrest is not something that a cop cant be "Ordered" to do as it needs a certain element of believe and interpretation of the law....so yes a cop can in some circumstances decide wh
  2. presumption and stereotyping.............and prejudice towards a fellow and dedicated hunter your still a copper tough deal with it,unless as a fellow hunter your going to get someone off a hunting act charge?. If it was me they wouldn't be getting nicked in the first place and shouldn't you be worrying about the people who you dont know what they do....rather than the one's who dont deny things and will give you open and honest advice!

  5. i replied with this! (you may see part of wonkylegs suggestion there) and strong stuff how little you know me....thats not my style That is the funniest e-mail i have recieved in a while! my ferrets are well loved pets as well as working animals, i presume you must be a vegan and dont eat any animals or animal products.....because if you aren't a vegan your a hypocrit! (hypocritical = eating or wearing animals someone else has killed but doesn't have the guts to kill your own meat!--in this i include drinking milk, eating cheese and wearing leather shoes) i dont leave any orph
  6. 7. I have done it.........the law is fuzzy at the moment this link used to have all the details of the exception but its now being re-written! http://www.bds.org.uk/use_of_shot_guns.html It stated when causing serious agricultural damage and where no rifle was available! as well as mentioning landowner or agent etc..... I have also done it due to safety reasons a rifle was in-appropriate, the last muntjac i took with the shotgun was behind a farm house and buildings and they were causing damage to the tree's there There is a shoot near me that has a Muntjac drive every spring
  8. Big John, that is a lead shot cart so we shall assume you are talking about non-wetland goose shooting in Scotland? The 3.5" shell is not of any benefit for lead carts in 12g or lower calibres. It is when lighter loads like steel are used in 12 and 10g that it can be very useful. The benefit of the 3.5" shell is that they provide a wider variety of steel shot loads and shot sizes than with the 3". Only Gamebore make the 3.5" shell in the UK and they load in UK BB's and smaller. By using the 3.5" they produce you get a higher pellet counts which is very important on flighting geese (
  9. Thats an hard one to advise on without actually seeing the dogs Muzzle's can often make the dog worse.....as can being tethered or on the lead (i have had a dog that was OK off the lead, but on the lead and he became very protective and aggresive to everything ) At 8 months old i cant imagine they are that dog aggresive that they cant all be let loose to sort it out by a bit of squabbling.................But as i said without seeing the dogs and how they react its an hard one to give advice on Hope someone else has some advice that can help and hope it works out
  10. Brecon Bushing is as described above, un-regulated hunting with small packs of dogs, usually terriers, sometimes small hounds and spaniels, sometimes lurchers/whippets etc.....what ever you have take them let them chase and hunt rabbits stand back and watch! It can be complimented with longnets or shotguns to catch/shoot game as it breaks cover and its a good way to exercise small dogs without walking miles yourself ideal area's are bramble covered hedge's or any otehr cover as rats and rabbits will inhabit and teh dogs will eventually realise they can follow the scent/chase t
  11. I know of them being used underground in this country! I also know of someone who has witnessed them being used abroad in europe! However Manipulus the starter of this thread may be able to answer that better....seeing as there are pics of him and his with ground game! They are too big for rabbit warrens....well the ones i have and have seen are

    POLICE SCUM

The funny thing is Fireman, we all love the same sport (Hunting) But have other very big differences....... If i offered some on here lots of land to run their hounds, well i would then be their best friend! Where's this land and when can i come? that thought had crossed my mind, we are in a minority that is abused by the ruling government, we are all Hunters! Just a few other points that Mackem raised that i would like to endorse, yes the standard of recruits into the police service has dropped, its about political balancing and positive discrimination rath

    POLICE SCUM

that is soooooooooooo true Mack thats where the courts come in to provide a seperate and impartial opinion! to vaildate or deny the police's suspicions

    POLICE SCUM

and its also always the same ones running them down with only half the facts and pre-concieved ideas i actually agree with a lot of what mackem says.........but his ideology is marred by his own experiences However his ideas about systematic shake ups and respect have some gravity!

    POLICE SCUM

Thats a valid point we dont know what was going through all parties minds at the time! In the clip that i saw on the news, the lad was stood away from the police, and obviously said or threatened something that prompted them to act, he should have turned and walked whilst there was still distance between them all.....I presume he had been warned and was arrested for a public order offence or such? As i said i aren't defending anyone or making any assumptions.....just saying somethings like use of force can be interpreted differently by impartial people after the fact, the decisions

    POLICE SCUM

It always amuses me the hate for the police on these boards..... Perhaps they did use too much force, but that is a point of debate, the lad was obviously strong and fit....he's a soldier! So more force could be used and justified than someone who wasn't as fit and strong and wasn't fighting back! And trying to restrain someone prone on the floor who is thrashing about can cause injuries, if they scraped his head rather than trying to hold it still then they were wrong but CCTV is deceptive and unless you were trying to hold his head we will never know how much he was throwing it around h
  17. We have spoke of this before! Without a central register and point of contact how will lads who want one know where to get one from? You can import all the teckels you want but without someone (the teckel society) keeping their pedigree and registering the litters, it descends into hit and miss and opens it up to charlatans and puppy peddlars (passing off hybrids or KC dachshunds, or rescues or something else) I advocate the Teckel society, yes the going rate for Cat A (pure imported working stock) Teckels is between £500-£650, but the society is about a stud register first and forem
  18. Russell My pups father is on this thread, as are the rest of the litter and perhaps the mother http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...teckel&st=0
  19. My teckel x and my teckel pup are in my signature! heres the pup this last week with a rabbit i shot all 3 of my dogs asleep in the kitchen, the spaniel is a coker so that may give you some scale Come one everyone else get pics of yours up too
  20. Russell as John says, they are very suited to rough shooting, i started with an interest and then bought a teckel x border terrier (she is 3 now) i now also have a pure teckel and along with our old spaniel am hoping to hunt them as a small pack at rabbits as a lot do.........shooting over them is the obvious natural progression! My Pup was born in august so is now 4 months old and is showing a natural instinct to carry stuff that my kids throw for him! My teckel x doesn't carry though unless its stilll alive and she will then kill it! We should invite Ruger8 and Capreolus (spellin
  21. I have a 3.5inch Baikal semi auto....and to be honest the cost of the 3.5 inch carts is prohibitive! i bought some cheap 3.5 inch remington carts and they were £14 for 25! they were the cheapest! They are OK cart but dont give that much more if anything than the 3inchers Other makes of 3.5 inch carts are really really dear! Edited to add, i bought two boxes of those carts, so 50 carts and still have 49 of them! the one i did use i dropped two ducks at once with it....so perhaps it did throw a bit more steel into the air!
  22. Just to add been out with my pup and the teckel x bitch just now for a walk with my lad whose 10....he was lead training the pup and is doing a good job of it!
  23. John agreeing to dis-agree is fine and we are both allowed our opinions (very grown up answer!) We both love teckels and as i have a young dog hound...if and when you feel like breeding from yours you can use him if he proves himself as i am sure he will do being all working lines behind him, german import mostly and some from the Ryeford chase pack Here's a clip...its been on here before, its a bloke in Norway with a rifle and a teckel!
