Yeah. I think I'd take my chances. It's only ALMOST certain annihilation, after all. And a nuclear winter might actually improve Skeg a bit !

    WW3

    Skeggy or death...........that's a tough call !
  3. They'll have a good opportunity to lay flowers at his funeral !
  4. Do any of these protesters gather outside mosques and synagogues, where actual , living baby boys are surgically mutilated without their consent ? Or is that different because it's in the name of religion ? Or does their Christian compassion cease once a child is born ? Just asking like..........
  5. I was filling up reading that ! At least you can take some comfort that he had a better life with you, than the future he was facing when you found him. RIP Oswald. Sorry for your loss.
  6. Go and grieve somewhere else - not 15 yards away from the house of the old boy you were trying to rob and terrorise...........while his old lady was asleep upstairs !
  7. I used to work in Brockley - I'm not saying it's rough, but the muggers go round in pairs, for safety !
  8. That sketch is offensive - referring to Mr. Kudogo as "coloured"...............I mean, really !!
  9. Zuckerberg is proposing a 'c!ean' version, which will paid for, but will be ad-free. The free version will remain, supported by advertising.............which will presumably be specifically targeted, after your personal information has been secretly gathered. I guess both versions will keep their current function - instruments of mass surveillance ?
  10. ...........or is about to be committed. In most circumstances, a reasonable suspicion is required, but Section 60 of the Police and Criminal Justice Act allows for random stop and search without reason................not surprisingly, it's hardly ever used !
  11. I've got £ and $...........ooh, and ¢ too !
  12. I've got a € key..............and that's the only time I'll ever need it !
  13. They don't need to - a couple of right-minded local blokes did it !
  14. It's not nostalgia, CJ ! The police themselves acknowledge that community-based policing was their primary, and best, source of viable intelligence - so why have they stopped doing it ? Those wretched concrete estates that litter most of our cities should have dedicated officers, working out of a station based on the estate or neighborhood they serve. If you're an urbanite teenager these days, your only contact with the Fuzz will be when there is a fight or some other disturbance, someone is arrested or there's a drugs raid........situations where the police are met with aggression and
  15. Where I am, we never see the police. Population 900, so they're not needed on a very rare basis - as you say, horses for courses ! But I used to live in a town of around 6,000 at a time when community policing was just beginning to be scaled back. The most serious crime was a few shed break-ins and two or three cars nicked, in the 6 years that I lived there, so we're not talking darkest Bermondsey, but.............. I used to regularly see one of the two beat officers on his rounds. He'd stop and have a chat, ask if all was OK, was there anything to report and he'd advise of anything we
  16. I've had to be in town for a few hours today. During that time, I've seen 9 or 10 police officers................all driving round In cars.
  17. And........is it just me that thought of this ? If cuts in police numbers are not a factor in the rising number of stabbings, shootings and crime generally (as the Home Office would have us believe), why did they make such a hullabaloo when 300 extra police officers were found, the other day, mysteriously, from who knows where ? Maybe it was some of the hate crime officers ? Maybe they were from Operation Domain ? Never heard of it ? It's a Met police database that collates gang related 'music' videos..........they've identified 1,100 on YouTube alone that they'd like removed (and so
  18. Or a bit of both ? 900 hate crime officers, but community policing has pretty much stopped nationwide. So what ? The police themselves always said that community initiatives were their primary source of intelligence ! These two policies are clearly contradictory !
  19. Well, it suggests visiting the Met Police website...............so I did - and found this ! "Hate crimes such as racist crime, domestic abuse and homophobic crime are one of our highest priorities. Currently, we have over 900 specialist hate crime investigators working across London’s dedicated hate crime Community Safety Units (CSUs). " Pretty close match, I'd say.......... Earlier this week, I read the that several of the recent murders have been voluntarily taken over by City police as the Met were struggling to cope.............. 2+2=................
  20. This must be a very serious matter, if you, of all people, are encouraging us to vote, mate !
  21. We'd need a mod to organise that kind of thing, surely ? Can't think which one of them might oblige.................
  22. My first wife's sister lives in Brickay Wood, mate ! I left Stilton Beans behind months ago - thank God !
  23. Surely there's no need for all that effort. I bet there's loads of lovely coffee shops in Radlett..............
  24. Exactly ! It gives the appearance of being tough on crime................ ...................while completely ignoring the reasons behind it ! The good old "government crackdown" makes a nice 6 o'clock headline, at very little cost. Initiatives to weaken gang culture, for instance, take longer and cost more. As I've said, what's needed is long term strategies to reduce future criminality but, equally importantly, measures to prevent some young lad from being stabbed tonight !
  25. I was only being a little bit facetious ! I meant longer term initiatives to reduce future criminality. There are societal and cultural influences that will take a long time, and a lot of money, to undo ! Lack of prospects, poor educational achievement, gang 'culture', the influence of rap "music", poor parenting, lack of respect for the law and the police, etc etc etc......... All of these (and other issues) have to be implemented, along with shorter term tactics, like the return to community policing, increased stop and search in hot spot areas, punishment for a first offence
