  1. Top recycling of the compost bags Terry ! That's got to be worth doing for me - how did I not think of that...........? On the subject of bags, the only things I'm growing in bags are peas and runners. I've turned 2 gro-bags on their edge, loosened the compost and formed the bags into a circle. It's deep enough for 3 plants in each bag, with a bamboo wigwam - and the bag retains moisture better than a container.
  2. Millet ?........bird scene ? Please yourselves ! coat---
  3. Stop bread from drying out by storing it in a bucket of water !!

  5. That is some quality work, buddy! Haven't tried it yet, so a couple of quick ones............................. Do you (or anyone else who wants to chip in) prefer epoxy of fibreglass resin, and is it harsh on tools........?? I'm gonna try it in the near future.
  6. Wilkesy, I am so jealous............makes my liitle space look like a postage stamp. I enquired about an allotment and was told the wait was "Not before you're a pensioner, lad!" So, only have to wait 15 years or so !
  7. Hi guys and gals ! My first visit to this section...................... In our old house, we hardly ever bought veg and I kept hens, ducks and quails for eggs and the odd bit of meat. About a year ago we moved to a much smaller place and I only have a very small, paved garden with no soil growing space. But, I recently acquired a 6X8 greenhouse for very little money and decided to 'get back in the saddle'........................ I've got broad beans, runners, peas, tomatoes, cuce's, courgettes and anything else I can fit into a container of any kind. Rows of plastic recycling boxes ma
  8. I've got loads.................. I've made wine from wild-picked blackberries, elders, blackcurrants, redcurrants, plums, apples and sloes or (most usually) a mix of whatever autumn brings. Carrot wine is really good - dead easy, sweet and very strong. I once made a gallon from a bottle of Ribena and one from a couple of cartons of pomegranate juice - both really nice. In my local Tesco, I look out for the short-dated stuff they knock out cheap, especially on Sunday afternnoons - 4kg of carrots came to 80p, if memory serves, and the juice was 30p a carton. (They've usually got loa
  9. do ya fook mine even leaves the fooking door open sounds like a shipos shire taking a piss...shipp.jpg this is what we know as a shipos shire best beer ever made remember shipos mild I grew up to the smell of Shipstone's beers being brewed. My Grandad lived on Whitbread Street at the back of the Gold Star Brewery . I also remember the drays being used for local deliveries, but probably not the ones in Stig's photo !
  10. We've got 2 branches nearby and one a little bit further - my missus loves it. If she's in there any more often, she'd have to pay rent !!
  11. Around £2 billion pounds worth of group losses, probably !
  12. NO-ONE voted him into power. He is PM by virtue of striking a deal with the treacherous ba5tards of the Lib - Dem Party ! CamMoron is a wanker - Clegg made a deal with wankers !
  13. Like I said, I mainly use glass marbles - price low, availability high. I know a couple of guys who shoot as small as 8mm steel and swear by them. I'd say, find an ammo you like (and can easily get more of!), stick to it and master it..........................
  14. I know there are some who think of CamMoron as a cult figure...........I think they said 'cult'..............but this is probably going a bit far. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/david-cameron-claims-jesus-invented-the-big-society--he-is-just-continuing-gods-work-9250449.html
  15. I don't think there's such a thing as 'best' ammo. It depends on several factors including your range and band set.Different band sets work best with different ammo's, different ammo's have different distance and trajectory. Steel fires different to lead, which is different to marbles, which are different to hexies. Trial and error is the best way - what I love, you might think is cr4p ! For what it's worth, I mostly use marbles, mainly just because they're cheap and easy to get hold of.......................
  16. This is the bloke who found a pinball machine in his loft, Pete !

  20. I was listening to Radio 4 (ooh get ' im !!) earlier, and they were discussing the 'second home' rules, such as they are. Miller represents Basingstoke, about 45 minutes drive from London. The rules allow her to acquire, and claim for, a second home near or in London. Her second home is 30 minutes from Parliament. So, we pay out God -alone- knows how much so she can be 15 minutes nearer. Nearly forgot - she'll get Ministerial severance pay, of course !! Eric Pickles claims for a central London flat because he 'has to be in work early'. (His words, not mine.)
