Brings to mind a trailer for that God-awful 'Citizen Khan' recently. His neighbour (a white fella) says ' Welcome back. How was Pakistan ?' Khan replies ' Just like Birmingham, but not as many Pakistani's !'

Gentlemen, you are both absolutely correct. A wonderful example of there being 'lies, damned lies and government statistics'. The published figures are for EU migrants, from the 10 newest members only, and, as stated, show a net financial gain to the country of £5 billion since 2004. BUT if you were to read further into the same report, you would see that ALL migration from 1995 - 2011 shows a net financial LOSS of £114 biilion .....................

As well as Bonfire Night (Bonfire month in some areas !), they are popular additions to many parties, Christmas celebrations, and the festivals of Diwali and Chinese New Year. But,in these safety-obsessed times, is it reasonable allow the sale of £40 million worth of explosives to rank amateurs ? The last available figures show that there are around 1,000 injuries caused by fireworks annually. 10 people will be permanently blinded. 4 people have already been killed in firework accidents this year. Libyan soldiers training in the UK have been sent home early, following a series of serious allegations, including the sexual assault of a woman, and the separate rape of a man on Sunday, in Cambridge. More than 300 Libyans had been based at Bassingbourn Barracks, as part of a G8 initiative to promote stability in Libya, following the overthrow of Colonel Gadaffi. The soldiers were due to train here until the end of November, but their stay has been curtailed, and future secondments are now in doubt. Last night our Tesco is doing BOGOF they've got that many left ! I always make one for the grandkids - took it over last night. Love seeing their little faces.......... I just have to make do with pumpkin chilli soup and a great slab of pumpkin cake that will both be gone by tonight. Hey ho ! -
I have one on whatever jacket/jumper I'm wearing and one on the car's rear-view, next to the Help for Heroes emblem. (I've also got a 'Support the IDF' wristband, but that's just to irritate the local muslims !)
