  1. Would have been better with a decent camera, was an unusual looking rainbow
  2. Don't take it the wrong way, THL massive will have a change of heart once the strength imbalances have been addressed, semi skimmed milk with one more teaspoon of oats should suffice

  5. One of the neighbours is going to be culling the deer, there's only roe here, he told me he'd found the skeletons of around fifty roe in his wood
  6. It is mate, off the beaten track, and a massive variety of woodland birds/ wildlife
  7. There's a good few high seats dotted about the place, and the remnants of pens, feeders etc, there's obviously been plenty happening there in the past

I've been getting my leather from Le prevo leather in Newcastle mate, I've heard of some quality issues myself, I'm lucky in that I can go and look through their stock, don't know what other places charge, but I got a double shoulder of veg tan for between £110-20, also a side for about the same price
  9. I use both mate, I like the water based dye I get from le prevo leather in Newcastle much milder smell, the bag was dyed with pro dye, the terrier lead and collar was dyed with the water based

Has anyone got any experience of managing, and working/ improving a small wood I'm talking of a few acres of mainly Sitka spruce that is overcrowded Hopefully if things go to plan the woods will be largely cleared and transformed into something more of a deciduous woodland with a good variety of native trees etc Cheers
  13. Had a cup of birch sap a couple of weeks ago, nice fresh drink, was dripping out after I cut some branches back
  14. There's a saying with stickmakers, the best time to cut a stick is when you see it Know about the winter cutting, but wonder if it's as necessary these days with the warmer winters

  19. Nice that mate, do you season the wood, or is it alright to use soon after cutting ? I've cut a few lately, 2 hazel, and 1 birch
