  1. Bog doesn't seem as bad up this direction though, great scope for a long range shot there john... not sure i'd fancy walking through all that clabber though...!!!!!
  2. good advice from above, always try to achieve a cold bore zero when hunting, As you want the first round to be on target,
  3. We seem to shoot quite similar ground john, not much in the way of wide open fields here either, And totally agree about the gene pool comment...haha
  4. NIce read john, i have a friend who come into the store where i work who has just purchased the Nd50, i have to say i'm not convinced by his talk of seeing foxes out to 400 plus yards clearly, But i guess i'm yet to be converted, looking forward to reading more from ya, i haven't been out since so only 4 on the board so far... there seems to be plenty about, but yet again, the hoods with their guns have made them lamp shy... another tough season ahead here... atb. Snap.
  5. blitz is too big unless your shooting at really long range, 500 plus yards, i find the striker a good balance and size, and although its only rated too 400m i Can see charlie way past this range on a good night, confirmed kill at 437 yards...!!!! so plenty good, if you have good glass. Snap.
  6. try here for cz stocks, i hear they are a little heavy but very sturdy, http://www.staffs-synthetic-stocks.com/ Snap.
  7. Was it a skilled gunny that done the thread cutting job or a man with a lathe, the threads need to be cut square to the bore, and i have seen a few cases of the mod been slightly of to the point of the bullets clipping the baffles of the mod, So be cautious with firing with a new mod on just in case that this may be the case with your rifle.. Snap.
  8. circulation...????? jesus .... your not that ol for dhrist sake....haha well the offer still stands if you dont get any joy with what ever you ordered...
  9. john, try commando socks, they are wool and toasty with the right footwear, if you cant find them drop me a line, and i'll get ye sorted out,
  10. Another thing that will change the POI with refitting the mod is barrel harmonics, and how tight the mod is screwed on, compared to the last time it was on, If you simply have no adjustment to do then you are very lucky indeed, there are loads of factors to take into account, And its way over my head, with tech stufff, and i've been shooting 20 odd years.... i only use mod in certain situations when needs must... all the best. Snap.
  11. Always had an eye for a honda NSX....
  12. buy yourself a suzuki hayabusa and outrun the scoobies and evo's.... and still have money left for petrol.... !!!!
  13. hmmmm seems to be a fashion trend these days, i had a .243 with a 21 inch barrel, and when i was getting my custom job done on it i extended it to a 24.5 inch barrel, and increased the twist to 1 in 9,
  14. nice to see ya relaxing for a while mate, hope alls going well for ya... Snap.
  15. the 595 is way better quality than the t3 action, which is built to compete at cost to build quality, but in saying that the accuracy of a standard hunting rifle in the t3 is second to none, my action sits in a mc millian A5 stock... and i love the fooker.... Snap.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORHaStEQzNg&feature=player_embedded Love this girls singing.... awesome talent for such a young lady...
  17. I am afraid that is rubbish, nothing at all wrong with Lee stuff, after all would a company advertise a money back guarantee on their collet dies,if you dont load your most accurate ammo? millions of rounds loaded with lee stuff all over the world without problems, I love reloading snobs, extoling the virtues of their hundreds of poundsworth of equipment they have, just to load hunting ammo, I use a Lee hand press and in my .243 and .22 hornet I can load ammo that will shoot sub half inch groups @100yds all day long, what more could you ask for, oh and in the nineties the world 1000yd benchr
  18. Stay away from the lee turret press, they are piss, i had one and invested in a redding big boss about a year later, there is a bit of vertical play in the aluminium head of the turret press, and this leads to inconsistancy when relaoding, invest in a quality die set too, like redding, it WILL save you money, Lee are alright to cut your teeth on, but if you want to make accurate ammo, then You have to spend that bit extra, Snap.
  19. Excellent shots mate, hats off to ya...
  20. i use either a 87grain v max pushing out 3100 fps, accuracy is in the .22's when i do my part at 100 yards, An i use 95g sst for deer, and its putting out 2900 fps, this is a semi custom rifle with a 1 in 9 twist, but i did shoot the 95's with a standard 1 in 10 twist shooting into 1/2 inch. i have used a .243 for years, and when building the rifle i now own i decided to keep the calibre, because of its selection of heads and powders that you are able to use with it, i always use a specific fox round and deer round, its not hard to zero two at the range, keep the zero you are going
