  1. Brilliant write up and picks Andy. That pup is turning into a belter. My kind of saluki bred, strong chested and that something about him.
  2. Turning into a cracker that mate. Best of luck with him.
  3. Used to do it a fair bit mooching in the day hunting fox and tracking. I've also seen a rough costed coursing type bitch with a good splash of collie hunt hares like no other. She literally found her sport whenever she went out never seen anything like it... But for the deer/fox game it was a saluki/bull/grey bitch, she was just so driven and eager to please. And I think that was key, I don't think it matter so much with lurcher what's in them as regards to using there nose, I think if they really want the game and really want to find they can, people don't seem to think that bull blood in a l
  4. Any recent picks of the golly pup King, he looked a cracker!
  5. Any pictures of them lurchers? Sound like they would have been rockets and do you still run this stuff now?
  6. Keep my eyes peeled up here. f***ing scum, hope you get them back. As to a deterrent I don't think you can beat a an arse biter, nothing says don't come here like a mean yard dog.

    Ratting

Has anybody got any ratting its for a couple of young dogs to sharpen them up!? Will travel don't mind that northwest area
  8. I prefer the look of a smooth dog. Can see its shape properly, know it's muscled up, on a rough harder to tell. Although the rough coat can hide a multitude of sins... If i has choice I would proberly pick smooth. But I ain't to fussed
  9. Cracking little pup. Wheaten cross?
  10. That's a cracking looks set of pups. Looks like they should be able to catch the wind, and with the breeding behind them I don't see why not. Best of luck.
  11. Seen a first cross work a good few years back, he was relentless and game as anything. Bred right from working stock. Same dog would receive rabbits to hand. Definently a cross that interests me. Just finding them like that old dog. If you look hard there out there mate, worker to worker you should go for not just any beddy to any greyhound, over 30 odd years of breeding in my beddy greyhound pupDefinitely mate. At least lads are still producing the right gear. That particular line looks spot on.

  13. Good point and if it was only the once with just the one owner maybe the dog didn't want to work for him.? Iv seen plenty of dogs not perform at 100% for some people and be completely different with just a different owner. Maybe that could be the case, who knows.
  14. Two impressive looking dogs. He lined a bitch called Honey from Wales, how did they turn out?
  15. 3/8 5/8 .... She's come out fairly racy. I think the whole litter can run.
  16. Just for you Roy Coursing dog X bull/grey .... Bred the right way from grafters.
  17. The best way I have found seems to be coursing dog X bull greyhound. Had them in all shapes and sizes and this type suits me. Can fill a bag of bunnies, can retrieve shot hares and foxes, and track deer. That's if you get the right one, and when you do I don't there is many a cross that can hold a candle to them in all round work. I used to think more coursing dog the better but now I don't. And infact i would prefer less. I personally prefer the dam to be the bull blooded party aswel. Pups seem to have better qualities for all round work.
  18. Definitely failure of the dog... Is he still alive?
  19. If it fails I will probably get the "you had it out in the fields,in the water, jumping to soon,up the fells to early" bollox mate haha..we will just do as we have always done..if he don't make it imo he was never going to whether he sat in a kennel for 12 months or was getting educated and learning some fieldcraft from early doors..there are NO guarantees as we know buddy ?Nail on the head mate. Best of luck with him, not that you will need it.
