In my defence, I never said anything about breeding sub standard stock, especially genetically dodgy pups or mating useless workers.

How come its only bitches that shouldn't be bred from? That's sexist, or doggist. I've never known a man with a stud dog refuse a service because the dog's worn out with serving bitches. Two or three litters from a bitch seems reasonable to me. Maybe not allowing bitch to breed is cruel? Nothing more content than a stretched out bitch enjoying the warmth from a heat lamp whilst suckling a litter of pups. Lovely, natural sight if you ask me.

I have a gamekeeper friend with 9 labs and two springers, all bitches. During Covid where pup prices went crazy, he refused to mate any of his bitches. He said they were working dogs, not money making machines. Tbh, I think I would have knocked a few litters out and bought myself a new car. There's nothing wrong with making a few quid out of a litter of pups imo. Price is price and often bears no relationship to worth, so if anybody can make 10 grand out of a litter good luck to them. It's not as though the buyer is going to mistreat a pup if they have a paid a huge amount of money for it

I have had springers in the past. My first, Bonny, taught my kids to walk. They would hold on to her ears and totter along with her. Like all springers she loved to hunt and I could just about keep her in range of the gun on most game except hares. As soon as she scented hares she would follow the scent like a bloodhound. Worst of all she would open up in excitement . You could hear her a dozen fields away and just make out her ears flapping over the tops of the barley stalks. When Russia opened up, some relatives of a local Russian neighbour came to holiday with him. He took them to a supermarket and they burst into tears. Such choice,such luxury and no queueing like they were used to.

They can change colour according to their environment. Not as quickly as chameleons but it is still an effective survival technique. You can find them yellowish,blackish and reddish. So yes, you will often find frogs like the one in your photo.

Wan Bissaka is supposed to be surplus to requirements. But there aren't many defenders who can dispossess attacking players with such accurate timing as him. Not so good offensively but I would prefer he stayed.

Same as my wife. She won't go outside Europe. I used to love Greece but its a bit samey for me now. It always strikes me that the Greeks are pretty lucky compared to living and working in Northern England. They dont know what's it's like to have shit weather most of the year or clock on to work in dirty dangerous jobs. They have less euros to spend but a much better quality of life imo.

I'm the same I dont want to go and then when I get there I don't want to come home. I hate airports and queuing and being prodded and poked during security. You feel as though you are being budget processed. Prices have jumped as well. I don't think cheap foreign holidays exist any more. I like flying though and still get a childlike bang when the plane accelerates before take off. We are holidaying in the UK this year. Although the average price for a cottage is now about a grand.

The yanks are always swayed by the aggressive fighter. Bob Arum is probably correct, I think most American judges would have scored the fight in favour of Taylor. That doesn't make them right though. Doesn't make it right that he took the microphone. He should have accepted his man lost. A trilogy is almost certain I reckon.

I don't know mate. But three finals in two years, winning two of them is pretty impressive. I think new management like to put their own men in place. It doesn't necessarily mean the new man is any better but it makes the management feel important.

I was rooting for Catterall, but at the end I was uncertain as to who had won. The judges were a mystery in the first fight and bizarre in this one. Catterall models himself on Mayweather but he takes far more punishment. Mayweather makes his opponent miss and then counters. Catterall takes a heavy shot before he counters. He can't do that on the world stage.

Went for a walk with a mate of mine I hadn't seen for years he had a GWP bitch and a whippet saturated bitza. The dogs were rough and tumbling when the GWP froze and pointed to an area of rough grass. The whippet didn't need any invitation and immediately put up a rabbit. She missed it but got very close. I really enjoyed seeing them work together. Apparently they do it all the time. Surprisingly the GWP did not join the chase but kept checking out the area of rough grass. Anybody any experience of running a pointer or a spaniel with a running dog?
