I agree. Premiership experience is a huge plus for a manager and a player. Look at that clown Anthony we signed for £ 80000000. He may been special in the Dutch league but the premiership is a different animal. I think Potter will do well given time. Lucky for the Hammers he was available at the right time. There's talk of Moyes to Everton. Wouldn't surprise me.

Slightly off topic, but I've always thought Lennox Lewis would be right up there in any era of boxing. He could bang, good chin, terrific physique and movement plus a real student of the sport. I think he was one of the first giants, but I reckon he would have outclassed Fury no problem. Granted Klitchko gave him a fright, but definitely in the top 3 of all time for me.

I don't know where you get them from Bob, but keep em coming lol

I was just reading about war dogs. The bull cross in the first photo would have been used to carry messages between the trenches. The army had a special training school. Proper war dogs ( bloodthirsty mastiff types) were used in battle by the Romans and others . I wonder how they trained them to differentiate between the enemy and themselves in the heat of battle? Scent?

And me. Three quarters of a century on the 7th. Still 19 in my head.

I love my bikes. Always had one. Lots of folk have lost their nerve because of the amount of traffic on the roads. I've had lots of scary incidents, especially with lorries, but I carry on. What will be will be. It's non impact exercise,so great if you can't run anymore.

Yup. I think we all get in varying degrees.

It's impossible not to feel 'high' on the blue sky and the special light that's reflected from the snow. It seems everyone you meet is in a good mood I met a bloke from California a few years back, he was in his sixties and within weeks of arriving in Scotland he was incapacitated with severe depression . He'd never suffered from it before. Doctor prescribed a UV light box...total cure.

Thank you. Yes I read about that fall. When I was young I climbed Blencather, Helvelyn, and Scafell and thought nothing of it. I climbed Skiddaw yesterday ( described as a grannys walk) and my knees are on fire.Lol

I'll be on piste tonight..purely medicinal

Nah , that was a joke. I climbed Skiddaw on my tod yesterday. There were red deer driven off the hills trying to find some low lying feed around keswick. Plenty of ravens. The mountain rescue were out. Bloke had broken an ankle. Nothing but respect for those guys....all volunteers.

Is Farage right to distance himself from Tommy Robinson ?.

I can assure you in the sixties family retribution was taken against Pakistani men pestering girls. It was common. As was gang fights between Pakistani youths and white youths. They were organised in the annual holidays ( the Wakes weeks) in particular. Stabbings were commonplace. I wasn"t interested in any of that bollox. They obviously believed any girl showing flesh was fair game. They came from a culture which wrapped their women up in clothing and kept them on a short leash. But they understood violent retribution perfectly. As I say men would think nothing of giving a sex pest a -

One of the most tragic aspects of the whole situation is ordinary people from Rochdale , Rotherham etc felt so powerless that they allowed it to happen under their noses and looked the other way. I might be seeing the past through Rose tinted glasses but I'm sure communities in the past ( men) would have those animals in their place. Where I grew up in the fifties there was community justice. A man knocking f**k out of his wife got a visit from the wife's relations or neighbours. Sons would look after mothers and their sisters. Now people call the police if they've had a dispute with a -
I like churches and the quiet that goes with them. I'm fine with some of life's major events being recognised there: birth, marriage and death. It's all the rest I can't accept.

I'm open minded about there being a creator of the universe. But religions , as you say, are clubs with weird rules about celibacy, hair, holy days, ceremonies, guilt and above all giving them money. Yes there is a special peace about being one with nature , not intentionally hurting anyone and being decent to others. Definitely. Wolfdog, if people gain some form of security or peace in believing in God, that's good. But I maintain the right to have my own opinion. If I've created a dystopian world then that's the way it is. I'm not telling lies. My old faith, Catholicism murdere

I remember Man U were getting hammered at half time at St Mary's I think. He ordered the team to change their shirts to a deeper colour because the players old not see each other properly. Lol Well Wilf lad, Potter the right man? Moyes is shaking his head and having a chuckle methinks.

So Mary was married to Joseph but she was a virgin. God impregnated her. Joseph was happy his wife had been impregnated by another being. She had no other children. God gave Jesus to us to save the world but we betrayed and crucified him but he wasn't dead. Then Eve ate that f****n and all children from then on were born filthy sinners. But that sin could be wiped clean if special water was poured on their head. Those that miss out on the special water are fecked. Jesus hung out with life's losers and whipped the traders out of the temple. So we built massive empires of wealth and

That ship has sailed. We are a subsidiary of the states in all but name. We fight their wars and house their nuclear weapons which we are not allowed to deploy without Uncle Sam's permission. -

Headline news tonight. I burst out laughing. Its gonna be quite a ride for Trump's final 4 years. All bets are off with regard to political normality, especially with Musk egging him on. Yeaha, here we go. -
When you wrote " I punch my c**t" I thought you were a wife beater. I thought thats a bit retro. On second reading I understand. Lol

I hate sounding smug, or one up on anybody's relationship, because all relationships are different, but I won the lottery when I met my Mrs. We've honestly only ever had 3 rows in 52 years and they have all been my fault. The humdinger was when we went to Venice. The kids had grown up so we started to holiday abroad. Unfortunately we had a few incidents where street thieves had tried to snatch my wife's shoulder bag in Barcelona and Madrid. We were heading off for an evening meal in Venice when I noticed she was carrying a shoulder bag. I went ballistic and swore at her becaus
