I think this business of the public demanding knockouts and boxers being judged on the power of their punches is bollocks. I genuinely get more pleasure out of seeing two evenly matched movers in the ring than a concussive puncher knocking out an opponent. Imo knockouts are part of the sport and can be a work of art in themselves. But knockouts are not the be all and end all of boxing. We've all seen too many injuries and fatalities to drool over a man stretched out on the canvas receiving oxygen.

Good post. Fury could have been deducted points on a few occasions for holding and hitting. Usyk is the best technical heavyweight I've ever seen. No wonder he has the beating of the current crop of heavyweights. None come even close to him in ability. It would be fascinating to have seen Usyk up against Ali, Holyfield or Lewis. They had a fluidity or power of punch which I think Usyk would have struggled with.

In contrast Usyk was respectful, a gentleman. A practitioner of the noble art. The Furys are an embarrassment to boxing and the UK. Thankfully we are seeing the tail end of them now.

We're all bipolar and have ptsd. Although, fair enough some people have it worse than others. Life is tough, we all get mental scars along the way. Some never heal. I can't understand this fascination with gypsy ' culture'. One set of my grandparents were born in caravans. Big deal. That's poverty. I'm not proud or ashamed of my so called gypsy heritage. Dubois low blow. Usyk made the most of it. Dubois was soon on one knee giving the pleading eye look to his corner. Joshua had that Audrey Harrison look in his eyes throughout both fights....scared, confused, mesmerised. Chishora played his usual role of punch bag. The ring is a lonely place and Usyk always finds his opponents and wears them physically and psychologically.

I will say one thing for Sumo. He gave Usyk two close competitive fights. Which is more than any other opponent I've seen Usyk fight.

You work on the railways mate? I only ask cos we had a member on here who worked on the railways and he was quite sensible about boxing. I think with all that shovel leaning, railwaymen have lots of time to think and talk about boxing.

Usyk psychologically annihilates his opponents. He retired Bellis. Joshua had a meltdown and threw the belt out of the ring. Dubois quit and refused to get up. Fury hissy fitted out of the ring last night. He's a boxer's recurring nightmare. " Do not be afraid. I will never leave you alone." Scary, confidence sapping opponent.

There's always an element of the champion is favoured by the judges. But Usyk won, no doubt. Fury improved a lot. I thought he might gas out carrying all that fat. Credit it to him. But sometimes David has Goliath's number. Dry your eyes fat boy.

If it's true that Fury has abstained from sex and speaking to his family for 3 months then he's a bigger dope than I thought. The more sex you have,the more the body produces testosterone. Isn't it medieval that women can't walk the streets after dark in most places of the world? Obviously some places are much more dangerous than others but it's a kind of collective shame that women are impeded like that. I think the vast majority of men would be more likely to protect a vulnerable woman than attack them, but theres a sizeable minority who just see women after dark as meat. And the problem is worse in different t parts of the world. It's 2024, we are supposed to be half civilised ffs.

I didn't say it was . Males are statistically more prone to crime and risk,taking and since half the world population is male, you are always going to get crime. I would imagine that most Australian descendants of people who had been deported for crime have taken advantage of what is now a rich society and don't need to commit crime to survive.

If criminality is inherited, how come Australia isn't awash with crime? I think around a third of men have a criminal conviction. Is that because of faulty genes or stupid laws?
