Hopefully. I had a 17tts whippet bitch from racing stock 30 odd years ago. She was the best rabbiting dog I ever had. I remember a day on the moors I had with her when she killed 13 adult daylight rabbits and countless young uns.

I lost two elderly Sooty Sam bitches at the start of the year. Together they could do whatever a big lurcher could do. One in particular could catch in dense woodland, she had a brilliant nose and could hold on. Me and the Mrs decided we wouldn't get another dog and would travel . But we ended up not travelling and sitting on our arses instead. We had a discussion about a new running dog. I persuaded her a laid back deer/ grey would be just the ticket. But she had another 'executive' think and bought a pedigree whippet from racing stock. She who must be obeyed, also decided it can

You've gone quiet. I was only joking.1, you couldn't keep up with me and 2, you would be a raving commie at the end of the walk.

Excluding Butterbean, he's the foat. Fattest of all time. Twenty odd stone now. Sir Henry fought at 13 and a half stone. I think Fury over analyses/pities himself. I think lots of men have all the psychological symptoms he describes. Lots of us live on the edge. Up and down, dark thoughts, nightmares, difficulty sleeping or concentrating , fantasising briefly about smashing your car into an oncoming vehicle. I think it's part of being male. Part of life taking its toll. You pick up mental, scars along life's journey. So what? Personally I don't think there's any point in navel gazing. You

Let's do the walk together. We can talk politics all the way and piss each other off .

I'd like to do that. There's a trail in Corfu, the length of the island which I'd like to do as well.

The same is true of the mainstream Greek Islands. 30 or 40 years ago they were clean, welcoming, friendly and good value. To me, who has never travelled, they were genuine adventures. We would hire a car and spend all day exploring the islands. You would get a genuine welcome from the Greeks in the villages. Last time I was in Corfu,it was expensive, full of mountains of rubbish and kind of cut throat. 'Give us your euros and f**k off 'seemed to be the attitude. The English hotspots are definitely to be avoided. Full of sunburnt drunks dining on chips and lager. Worst of all there were

Just been on the phone to the cops with my theories. Told them its either Stiffmeister and they'll never catch him because he's an elite member of THL. Or alternatively, I told them it could be that Stiffmeister has been personally assigned to to track him down armed with his 'slayer of souls' Rambo knife. In which case to back off and let him do his work. Cheeky b*****ds put the phone down on me after calling me a stupid crank of an old c**t. That's gratitude for you.

Aye distraction. What are they trying to hide? Governments often release bad news in the shade of a 'big' news story.

Interesting info. Across the pond, how Don King was never roughed up or shot by the dozens of guys he ripped off, including Ali and Tyson is a mystery to me.

You might be right mate, I don't know what their cut is tbh. I do know the likes of Conor Benn and the young Fury make eye watering amounts of cash for f**k all. But that's the way boxing has changed.Good luck to them but it's hard on those who trod the path for them to make all that money.

As has been said Fury has huge weight and height advantage. He's a bit like a kid in the playground who stands head and shoulders above the other kids and tells the other kids he's the hardest kid in the school, even though he's never proved it in a proper fight. Fury imo, has never been in a proper fight, a war, with other boxers. Yes we've seen him on his arse but never under sustained heavy pressure. I believe quite a few heavyweights from the past would have been capable of pushing him to his limit. You don't just put a man away with headshots. That flabby belly would have been perfe

Promoters were pretty much pimps in those days. I don't think any of the boxers of that time ever made any real money. I imagine Hearn and Warren rip off their guys, but hopefully, not as blatantly.
-
I agree, when measuring a heavyweight, I always try and think how he would fare in the heavyweight scene of the 70s. Fury, AJ, Dubois would never have made sparring partners. And I'm not looking at the past with rose tinted spectacles.

Omnishambles times a million. Hard to imagine any government of any type getting so wrong. Absolute incompetent b*****ds.

I remember him as a come forward boxer. I've been re watching some of his fights. Top notch. Everything was much more honest in those days. Terry Lawless must have had some fighters through his hands. I particularly remember Kaylor because I remember him being interviewed and him saying he could breathe a lot better because he had had a sinus operation. That encouraged me to go to the quack and eventually I had the same operation. I also remember the genuine street punch up with Christie. And the respectful boxing match after it. As I say, in those days the sport was more honest, the be

Did you ever rub shoulders with Mark Kaylor from your neck of the woods?

I never went on any of the fishing trips because I spoke to others who confirmed what you said, it was a glorified boat ride. However a mate of mine did go and got a marlin the same height as himself. There were homeless people near out hotel too. But they slept in cars. They never begged from us and looked quite smart...maybe they had jobs. Plenty of homeless people sleeping rough on benches in the parks. I suppose in you are homeless then the Canaries have got the climate for it. When we left I offered them some left over booze which they thanked us for, but they didn't get tore into

Stiffmeister hasn't been on for a while....just saying.

Yes that's what I thought. But the media are making it out to be huge. When I first read it I thought " big deal, what's all the fuss".
-
He must have had the cooperation of the driver?

I'll say one thing for Wilder, he's not a quitter. I'm not sure the same can be said for Joshua or Dubois and a few others. I gave Dubois the benefit of the doubt when he had the orbital fracture of his eye against Joyce. But he showed his fragile psyche again against Usyk. Neither Dubois or Joshua are the real deal for me.

I've been watching some old British middleweight fights. Brilliant entertainment from genuine fighters who didn't duck each other and enjoyed the sport: Kaylor,Sibson,Minter, Finnegan, Graham, Christie and others. When you watch these fights you realise how much boxing has deteriorated. They are a breath of fresh air. I'm not interested in MMA etc, but at least those guys are genuine pugilists. Which is more than you can say for many modern British boxers.
