  1. I'm 74 and stats reckon I've got another 12 years to go before popping my clogs. I found after 60 odd you just accept your aches and pains. They are inevitable. I never dreamed when I was young that I would live this long. My dad and his brothers were all dead in their early 60s. So I will take a few aches and pains for an extra couple of decades..fingers crossed.
  2. I've found kennel dogs to be easier to train. They are more focused on their owner and they have no distractions like spilt food, warm radiators and daft family members treating them like children. On the other hand house dogs are more humanised and members of the family. In my younger days I would buy pups and kennel them. But then I would come home and find them in bed with the Mrs. Funny, but annoying when you are trying to train a gundog and they are being taught to be instantly obedient. But then I took myself too seriously when I was younger. Lol.
  3. How are you going to place the heater and thermostat so they are chew proof?

I don't think I've got anything to add lads. A fair and frank exchange of opinions. Goodnight.

Naughty naughty. Anti semite? My gran was Jewish. Hard left? Not me, I've got my shares and a comfortable capitalist pension thank you very much. You still campaigning on a " kill all the palestinian kids in case they end up over here on a boat?" Herod believed in something similar, although he did spare the little girls.

Wankers, attention seekers and oddballs get a bang out of targeting cenotaphs. It shouldn't tax the police's intelligence units to track the vandals down if they could be assed. The vast majority of people marching for a ceasefire on Saturday are certainly not interested in targeting cenotaphs or upsetting anybody. I am not interested in insulting you back. Pointless. I attended the countryside march and the march against the invasion of Iraq. I'v e been on lots of demos protesting about the deliberate demise of the NHS. I don't remember we dangerous lefties targeting cenotaphs ffs.

Of course that is true. There are Pakis who demonstrate against the involvement of british troops in various areas of conflict. If they break the law they should be dealt with . The police were not shy in cracking miners heads when they were given a few bob in overtime payments. These daubers of paint shouldn't be given the oxygen of publicity. They are nobodies. They only become somebody's when the right wing media fires people up to believe the end is nigh because a few pakis run about with aerosols. I was in my local ex service club last night. Somebody had organised a collection f

Braverman's husband is a jew who has lived in Jerusalem. He is a former member of IDF. Many Downing St advisers accuse that treacherous oaf and general moral catastrophe Johnston as being led by the nose by his airhead wife. Perhaps, just perhaps, Braverman's husband is leading Braverman by her ample nose? Her job is to keep order, so the police can do their job by public consensus. Instead she is like a Saturday night drunk , screaming for attention whilst pouring petrol on a supposed left/ right war over the cenotaph. No serious person believes Palestinian supporters are going
  9. I miss the male humour of drinking dens, especially the wind ups. Me and a mate had been piking and went to the pubs afterwards still with our gear. We had the bright idea of depositing our dead mackerel bait in the toilet cistern of the Ex service club we drank in.. After a few days the stench in the toilets was unreal. The theories as to where the fish came from, when they were eventually discovered , were brilliant. Everything from "they are breeding in the cisterns" to " they have swum up the pipes, to foreigners "using the cisterns to hide fish they had stolen from the suppermarket".
  10. Sex. Quite right too. You young fellas should be taxed to the eyeballs to pay for our pensions.
  11. Agree with all of that, but I can't understand how you equate the smoking ban with the demise of working class pub culture. Imo the two are not related.
  12. Story of my life mate. Born f****n loser.lol
  13. OK, it's genuinely interesting to hear a polar opposite point of view.
  14. Then we start the eugenics argument, or the race purity argument or should the poor breed argument. And we'll be here next week batting an argument to and fro. f**k that. I concede.Lol
  15. Nah I'm not having that. Stay home unless you want to breathe in others smoke. That's not freedom, that's a dictatorship.
  16. Posh cow. That's expensive where I come from
  17. I do understand the choice argument and the slippery slope analogy and I agree governments shouldn't normally be in the business of banning any freedom that people enjoy in their homes or privately. But tobacco smoke impacted on other people, sometimes fatally. What about their freedom?. Pub closures have more to do with other factors than with the tobacco ban. All pubs had to deal with the tobacco law not just the ones that closed. Others pubs are thriving, sports bars seem to do well and pubs that really make an effort with food. Although there will never be the pub culture there once was
  18. No offence mate. But you seem determined to defend the weed despite medics warnings. I am not in favour of banning tobacco for adults. In fact theres a good case for legalising drugs too imo. But the pub law is great. People died from passive smoking ..bar staff and club entertainers in particular. It's good to go home without your clothes and hair tainted with the stuff. I can remember sawdust and spittoons in certain pubs. Ceilings used to be dark yellow with nicotine. People's eyes would stream.. even smokers eyes. Its definitely more civilised now.
  19. It's a big drain on the health service treating damaged kids resulting from cousin marriage. I'm in a banning mood tonight. Ban cousin marriage and ban tobacco! As Neil in The Young Ones used to chant. "Stop everything bad NOW."
  20. Indians too. Cousin marriage is legal here. Imo it shouldn't be. Too risky for children. Should be a taboo like incest.
  21. f**k me Wilf give losers a break. Lots of men are oddball. Some are diagnosed whatever, some undiagnosed whatever. Men are more prone to disorders of all types. Most of us have "isms" of one sort or another. If a deal is made where a western bloke with relatively loads of money rescues a Thai wife from poverty then fine,he's a British citizen. He's entitled to take a foreign wife if he cant find a british woman. There is a problem with British Asian men bringing women in on arranged marriages or worse marrying their cousin. But that's a different scenario
  22. Do people start smoking voluntarily or are they unfairly influenced to do so? Remember your first draw on a fag. You cough, retch and your eyes stream. It tastes like shit. But you go back to it because of peer pressure created by tobacco advertising. The advertising used to include all types of psychological tricks: it's cool,it's tough,it's communal,it's a stress relief,it's something you do to reward yourself, etc etc etc. You don't start out of the blue. Kids used to be bombarded with these messages. The tobacco barons are now targeting third world kids very successfully because they can't a
  23. Yeah,I can remember walking two miles at night, in a blizzard, to a fag machine. It's supposed to be as addictive as heroin.
  24. With respect to your Mrs, fags don't relieve stress. Your mind tells you that's the case, but in reality, feeding the habit, constantly thinking about your next fix, knowing the damn things are attacking your health these worries cause stress. I quit after reading Alan Carrs book 'How To Stop Smoking'. He is big on explaining that tobacco addiction does not relieve stress it causes it. No offence to your wife, but your wife should listen to the cardiologist not 'correct' him. He knows what he is talking about. I think your better half has gone into the meeting determined not to believe what
  25. I agree with that. Lots of men wouldn't lower themselves to buy sex, particularly from a third world woman. But a lot of western women won't accept the role of a traditional wife. Bald and ugly? That's me. Pattaya here I come. ( No pun intended.)
