Nice result Birds have a hard enough time of it just now, without being burdened with a beak like JD! They tend to average out at about three years, in the wild, by the way. That's supposing they make it past the first weeks out of the nest. So there's no reason why that one shouldn't be extremely grateful for being given a new lease of life.

My 'Boss' was round today. We were just shooting the shit, warming up for the day out. I remembered that comment and said to him: " Hey! You know those 'High Energy' drinks? Fireman; How nice to see there are people out there, as seriously into their birds as you patently are, and who share my simple views I mean; If Elvis and his mates prefer their birds a bit different? Now that's interesting. I somehow had a hunch the Sibe's would be bigger. I've always noticed how show standards seem to call, first and foremost, for BIG. I just equate big with unnatural. It's just me. But, I like things to be as nature intended. I've never been interested in Showing anything. Hence I don't 'get' the thing with lilac coloured Greenfinches, or what ever. I like mine green The duller colours though? I'd not heard of that before. I'll look into this. And, do I take it this is a naturally occurring phenomena, found in wild birds as well as captive bred birds of the region?
