    IMO we are all different and we all expect different things in life, I was once sent a sample of netting from a net maker/mender (I do not wish to say who !) which I personally thought wasn’t up to the task, when I mentioned this to him he was obviously offended by my remark and we agreed that what suits him doesnt me. I am intrigued by any “new” (to me) type of twine to make a long net and long may people keep experimenting ...

    How do the linen nets hang when on the pin ? Are they bulky like a hemp ?

    The ones from China ?. I drilled a hole slightly wider and deeper than the light then put in a little gorilla glue , waited 10mins then pushed in the light just bellow the frame and when it had hardened I put a blob of clear nail varnish over to seal it ??.

    I used to wrap n tuck but when it rained I’d pull out a band because it was wet, with these scouts I don’t have to carry 3 cattys just in case it rains.

    They are black latex from simple-shot , I like them but they don’t like the cold. Yeah I used to “instinctive aim” with my previous cattys but this scout is so easy I prefer to aim now ??.

    I’ve used the “Black” scout for a few years now and come winter time I’ve found it increasingly difficult to sight anything in come late afternoon/dusk. My failing eye sight doesn’t help either. So I thought I’d try a tritium lamp/vile/tube.. wow what a difference it makes. The walks in the woods should produce a dinner or two this autumn/winter ??
