Not a dig (excuse pun), just rung a bell from a previous thread When worked correctly there is absolutely nothing wrong with working the wheaten terrier. However, IMO, very few know what a wheatens job is (and please lets not start a debate on the WWW.) and those that think they do should not discuss it on the inter-net. When combined with fools with cameras and egos the strongdog can do more harm to terrierwork than any other aspect. agree on every point Neil well put

    said before but a friend in racing pigeons told me of a guy that had birds that were from 27 generations of father/daughter. Cock birds like they were from a mold. hens lost size eventually. he would cull anyhting with slightest fault, that was the key.

    there was a lad on here used to have a cocker x patterdale. would run it with a B&F collar on, as it would go to ground and bolt foxes for him

    are they the Haix Montana Lucky? if so i had same problem and cut grips wider with disc cutter and it helped

    This one has never been dug, never even bolted anything. no breeding behind him just started dropping in recently, at about 8 yrs of age he's more of a pet, bit fat, my guess is he's pushed on and got wedged and suffocated

    This is exactly why I wouldn't bother with a terrier. I'd be gutted. the lad is gutted, he's clinging onto hope that dogs come out and took himself off to a farm to lie up. hes been round the farms and left his number.

    my friend was bushing rabbits with his 8 yr old russell last weekend and it dropped in a big place. never been dug and not been one for going to ground. two others dropped in for a short while, but my mates russell has not been seen since. the lads have run 2 separate dogs with collars on through, dropped holed and pushed rods through tubes but no avail, they spent 3 whole days there. for that reason, in my part of the world a terrier bushing is just not worth the risk, IMO

    really great to watch, dogs hunting terrain as barren as a lunar landscape. finding, hunting, catching, recommend it thoroughly but i found the gopro camera made me bit seasick!

    warm, dry comfortable, hard wearing my only issue is that the grip on wet sloping fields is bad, I spoke to the suppliers about this and they said "we've had a few people say that" in the end i customised the tread with a disc cutter and it has improved things i also have a pair of Haix K2 and they have no grip issues, but not as warm and much shorter so you need a good pair of gaiters.... hope this helps

    you're right there. see a lot more when out with the horse Your also higher, so would get a great view of runs. agree when I go driving the horse around the lanes you can see over hedges, and stuff seems far less wary. Often thought about having someone in the back with the lurcher on the slip
