    haha I think you might be right Si as it came in It came from left to right and looked like it was going to land about 60-70 yds in a tree to the left of my position, but then it must have changed its mind at last min and kept going to the tree just behind my 'target tree' knowing this was 40 yards I allowed for the drop, and also the angle of the shot and the washed and lubed superdome and the 97 did their jobs just as well as I did mine and mr Crow said his last goodbyes to the world. perhaps he landed to be nosey and see what I was doing... curiosity killed the ..     try clicking your scope about 5 clicks down at 35 yds mate that should see it somewhere near centre

    heres mine at 35 yds on Tuesday these are .177 aiming for the top right pellet. its not the best group ive ever shot mind. did you know different pellets will be more accurate through your rifle, finding the best pellet helps loads.. then wash and lube them then that helps too. also what rifle are you using? looks like your groups could use some work, no offence mate but you don't want to be wounding rabbits you need to guarantee a clean kill, they deserve that at least don't they.?

    ayup guys been plinking today and bedding the hw97kt .177 in after fitting the vmach kit on Monday. now shes had over 1200-1300 pellets through she seems to be coming on nicely just need to re chrono after the 1500 mark anyway was getting pretty good groups with the superdomes at 35 yards hitiing a spinner almost everytime and I even shot a 3 shot group about 6-7 mm that put a smile on my face was sat there shooting away and a crow lands in the tree at 40 yds - just behind my 'target range' at 35 yds' needless to say what happened next when I lined the the crosshair up, the fi

    if your a good shot on paper and can hit 2p sized groups everytime on paper at 40 yards with pellets straight from the tin then aye why not. you will get better groups and especially less fliers with washed and lubed pellets tho. I shot a crow a couple months ago at 66 yards in the head with jsb exacts straight from the tin from an unturned springer aswell. im sure theres people that wont believe that but why would I lie?

    if your just having fun plinking it doesn't matter about anything. just put a pellet in and shoot. but if you want to shoot accurately out to further ranges you need to know your getting the best accuracy potential from your kit... finding the most accurate and consistent washed and lubed pellet at the right power level and right weight. etc. is a time consuming and expensive process .. . but that's for the properly OCD type people, or competition shooters lol

    They probably think not everybody wants one so to keep costs down they dont fit them as standard. When i bought my brand new bsa lightning xl last year it had studs fitted as standard. Why dont Weihrauch do this aswell?!.

I tried napier power pellet lube but that caused dieseling pretty bad whereas the wd40 lubed pellets have not dieselled yet, neitherhas the rifle after fitting the vmach kit.     that third group is really good mate similar to mine here at 28 yards roughly same distance the top right pellet was the aimpoint the group of 5 shots fell low and left ( 6 shots total ) with .177 daystate Li pellets, washed and lubed with wd40 with my hw97kt that I fitted a vmach kit to and has only fired roughly 600 pellets since so is still bedding in, im not the best shot in the world and don't claim to be, but I really enjoy my shooting and im getting better all the time, as Bigmac97kt keeps telling me ... :laugh: SKoT

    Thanks Davy, I just have to try get my hols sorted at work.. also I think I might be double booked, made plans with a mate and don't really want to let him down its been arranged for ages I just need to double check the dates for our plans with him hope it doesn't collide with this meet I really enjoyed the last one and really want to come this year

    bit of plinking today to get the vmach bedded in. 28 yards - last light, right to left slight breeze-.. daystate Li 6 shots total top right was marker shot/POA 34 yards slight breeze right to left, right hand shot was POA 6 shots total jsb exact 4.52 im no Si Pittaway but I do alright lol. massive respect to his shooting ability, and a lot of guys on here that are far better than me SKoT

    heres best I can do with my .177 hw97kt after just fitting a vamch kit. hope it settles down tho - over chrono it was very inconsistent 34 yds jsb exact, slight breeze R-L - top right shot was 'marker shot'/POA 6 shots total 28 yds daystate Li .slight breeze R-L, almost dark could only just see target! - top right shot was markers shot/POA 6 shots total watching Si shoot gets me sooo jealous!! lol got to take my hat off to him and mawders didn't do too bad either :laugh:

    nowt that's just the factory finish! I just rub it down with a silicone gun and reel cloth after ive been out with it, or if it gathers too much dust after a week or so of no use just sitting in the corner
