hi Skot i can take two off if you like, but only if you have some pre load washers remember i have to compress the spring as well,so that's like removing more of the coil. if you take 1.5 to 2 off that will be fine I have 4 or 5 preload washers to slightly up the power if it goes below 9 ftlb thanks again davy

hahaha rats turning away free food?! Lmao!

really?! only one..? I thought it would need more than that to get down to 9-10 FPE I was thinking about PM'ing Davy and asking if he would do it for me, if I post him my spring, after watching his excellent vid he did the other week I don't have access to a grinder or a blowtorch or anything like that so someone else will be doing it for me haha of course I will pay for their services, that should go without saying, im not a freeloader SKoT

I got mine from blackpool air rifles online www.airgunbuyer.com however Simon .. Pianoman on here has just got a tuning kit from Sandwell field sports and says its magnificent and for just shy of £50 I think you should give them a call and see what they say before you order a vmach my hw97kt was pretty smooth after I fettled it myself with the original weihrauch internals.. after installing the vmach kit I don't think there really is much difference.. especially £ worth.... -

Tuning to make it smoother, rub piston down with wet and dry and wire wool to get it smooth and rust free, and basically just smooth the rifle out so its nicer to shoot with a vmach kit you get a spring spring guide tophat piston liner and piston seal. your gun might need a new breach seal aswell if its in bad condition. MOLY grease is the best bet for the spring, guide and on the piston, but not too much, if any gets infront of the piston seal the rifle will diesel I don't know much about re-blueing tho mate hope this helps mate SKoT -
Hi guys, as you may or may not know I recently fitted a vmach kit to my hw97kt .177, 26 mm piston using none of the washers supplied, just the spring and tophat.. after 30 pellets fired after installing the kit using unweighed, washed and lubed pelets I shot a 20shot string --> lowest 10.52 ftlb 751 fps highest 11.49 ftlb 785 fps spead almost 1 ftlb and 34 fps now after 1500 shots fired using the same pellets from the same tin with the same chrono etc lowest 11.56 ftlb 787 fps highest 11.96 ftlb 801 fps spread 0.40 ftlb and 14 fps pellets used were jsb exact "8.

spot on Si.. in real life shooting at say a squirrel or a rabbit you don't HAVE to take an awkward shot, you can move to a different location, or leave them for another day, or wait for them to move. any responsible shooter would do this whereas, in the game of hft, the target has to be shot from a certain position with no adjustment or lazers lol but that's what makes it fun and hard to hit every killzone and get 60/60 I got 37 or 38 on my first attempt with a .22 springer, which I though wasn't too shabby at all for a virgin -
don't know then at 20 yards it should be pellet on pellet!
-
what range are you shooting mate? try cleaning the barrel and maybe try some different pellets.? also if the gun has a silencer the pellets might be clipping that.?
-
also you should ask Bigmac97kt if you can borrow his CROW SPORT

I suppose the cats are better than rats, in the farmers eyes.. good luck sorting the crows out then

from what I gathered the one time I tried hft is the main important thing is guessing the range right.. fair enough its also a skill to shoot properly in funny positions stretched out looking behind you with your gun through your legs lol (slight exaggeration) but the main thing , for me, was judging the distance. wind would make all that even harder so to get a good score you have to be quite versatile as a shooter so WELL DONE LADS -
Obviously gunshop owners just arent as keen as us. My mate thinks all pellets are the same and my other mate thinks more expensive ones must be best. I believe headsize and pellet weight makes all the difference.. Say your shoting at 70 yards with pellets straight from the tin. Group migh lt be 3 inches Same range but with pellets you know to be all 4,52mm and all exactly the same weight say 8.45 gr your groups will be a lot better. Maybe not so much difference at 20 yards but at 70 you will see dramatic difference.... Rant over lol

they all look the same in the dark lol bet your glad about it being a rook. iv had millions of crows hundreds of rooks but only ever 3 jackdaws. millions of magpies, but never a jay :/ and billions of rabbits but never a hare slight exaggerations on the numbers mind

looks a bit blurry but from what I can see of that gunstock... OOOOOSH! that looks stunning also your not wrong that is one fat squirrel bet you thought it was a bunny lol

I know its not worth it , that's why I got the combro in the first place, couldn't afford more at the time or I would have got an F1 instead. soon as I get some spare cash I will be getting an f1. and I will use that and the combro at the same time to see if they give the same reading.. like they hopefully should!
