  1. What exactly have you done with it then? Have you sanded and re finished the stock? What did you use? Have you done anything to the exterior metalwork? What you done inside the rifle? SKoT
  2. I was wondering if you could get a mag for it so thats good new, I did find loading it a bit fiddly and thought it could be a problem in the dark. I am looking forward to the added accuracy to. Can anyone shed any light on how far out you can take a killing shot to? set a 2p coin up at different ranges.. if you cant hit it 5/5 times then thats too far for you to be shooting. it might be 30, 40, 45 50 55 60 yards... depends on your skill mate.
  3. nah mate havent bothered. its no big deal at the min, might look into it at a later date, cheers
  4. i had an s410k cracking guns as for .177 you need to be a bit more accurate with your shot placement, you can get away with a bit more with .22 because of the bigger round delivering more kinetic energy, more stopping power. but the s400 is amazingly accurate, so shots to the brain at sensible ranges should be easy to achieve i think hunting with .177 is fine, some may disagree, but if the pellet hits the right spot then the rabbit dies. simple. dont forget some pics when you have a new scope on it all the best, SKoT
  5. aye its a decent little lamp for the airrifle. not too much. does the job for fair price, think it was about £100. shame it doesnt have a dimmer switch tho, but i dont go lamping much so not too bothered. had a tracer max couple of years back, was a bit overkill for the air rifle
  6. good question. does the 'mint condition' refer to the outside, or the inside, or both..? last year my brand new hw97kt cost me £435... rifle only
  7. i used a sport hd 3-9x40 decent simple scope. then i upgraded to a hawke panorama ev ao ir 4-12 x 40 and a 50 aswell and there a lot better i also use a mtc mamba lite 4-16x44 on my other gun and there isnt much difference performance wise to the panoramas. for roughly the same price its down to personal choice, like others have said, try as many as you can good luck, SKoT
  8. on my laptop it says something about a clipboard wanting access to this webpage or sumat.. sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. most of the time i save (post) my post and then edit the photos in after incase the page crashes and i have to write a full post again.. bit of a ballache but try doing what i said, post first then edit photos in. ATB SKoT
  9. Accuracy is a lot more important than power.
  10. U sure you took enough photos last night mac?! You after a job as a professional photographer or sumat?! lol should be a good little learning rifle before he gets the ultra. better to learn with a recoiler first, sounds a good shot.. might get better than you oneday Good luck to the lad.. SKoT
  11. i have the jackpyke one and it seems to work quite well, only worn it once tho. good quality and tough. this one looks like it could be ok tho, for about half the price of the jack pyke one.
  12. hi mate welcome to the forum, its a good one
  13. them hawke airmax must be about £150 ?? £20 for mounts.. basicaly whoever buys this, gets a scope and mounts for nothing, and saves a few quid on the price of a brand new rifle aswell !!! absolute bargain!!
  14. my rifle ONLY was £435 hawke panorama 50mm was just shy of £200, £170 or £180 i think.. sling and swivels £35 one piece mount nearly £40 bag £25-30 so this guys must be worth £600 + so whoever buys this saves about £200 on brand new gear.. (if scope is included)
  15. might i just add Mac, hope you dont mind, my hw97kt cost me £435 brand new..
  16. jsb exact 8.44grn 4.52 and daystate rangemaster li 7.9 (think there 4.51 or 4.52) both fit my hw95k nice and snug, but the jsb are a hell of a lot more accurate and consistent a lot better groups at 35 yds with the jsb and the max spread over 10 shots is 13fps with jsb and i think it was about 35-40 fps with the Li's
  17. lightning alternatives.. bsa supersport - longer barreled lightning lol weihrauch hw99s small and light just like a lightning/superport weihrauch hw95k .. amazing rifle, SLIGHTLY heavier than the above but not much. the PERFECT small lightweight break barrel air rifle, and definatly the best choice...
  18. great stuff mate.. might go see my local farmer agaain soon. hel probably say no again tho lol. but guess you never know ey lol
  19. spring in a few days... i just woke up and the roof over the road is covered in that white stuff again.. nice rifles the 97 hope you enjoy it. SKoT
  20. I think people frown upon shooting past say 40 yds so people dont go around injuring things. i was confident of my rangefinding, knew my aimpoint and the conditions were good. i was in a good prone position rock steady. if at any point i had doubted myself or my kit i wouldnt have squeesed the trigger. it was either going to hit its head, or totally miss the bird.. i wouldnt normally shoot that far, and wouldnt reccomend it, there isnt a lot of room for error the further the range but as i said i was feeling very confident. Theres some good people and very good shooters on this
