thinking of spraying one of my guns just for hunting. dont really care what it looks like as long as its camoed with a dull finish so it isnt shining and scaring quarry away in bright sunlight. dont want to spend too much just want something cheap and cheerful. any help tips or advice will be appreciated. any alternatives to spraying it would be considered. also its a hw97 so i need to be able to cock and load it easily, aka nothing in the way of the loading port or the underlever.. cheers SKoT

Buying A Spring Rifle! :)
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to (g80na1886)'s topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
some say tx some say 97. if i was you i would try a tx and a prosport if possible and see how they feel compared to your 97. all 3 are top quality air rifles and you wont go wrong with either. i own 2 97s but if i was right handed shooter one would have been making way for a tx so i could see which i prefered lol, unfortunately as a left handed shooter im stuck without a tx, unless i got a custom stock for one but then thats even more money lol. my 97's are good enough for me tho hope this helps mate, good luck SKoT edit, another one to throw into the mix, a walther lgv. -
Hw95 Top Hat - Mainspring
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to Davidh123's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Too much lube is a bad thing. just needs a light coat. trial and error untill you get it right. i think just adding a top hat on its own should probably stop a lot of twang- try it and see SKoT -

Skot Ruthless Teale replied to Username1's topic in General Airgun Discussion
oops read it wrong, you put 99s silly me however, having owned 2 of these rifles a few years ago, they were in a totallly different league to my old bsa supersports and lightnings, cracking little guns mate. -

Hw95 Top Hat - Mainspring

my brand new 95k was twangy as hell. i opened her up smoothed piston with steelwool and re lubed her and now shes fine. makes a dull 'phut' sound. before it was more like 'cloooooonkkkk' stil got the standard weihrauch internals, couldnt fit my ptfe piston sleeve in there so i left it out, and theres no power washers or anything and deffo no tophat and shes doing just under 11 ftlbs and shes nice and smooth to cock and fire, not too much recoil. a tune would be benefical but shes good enough for me as she is so id rather save the £70+ good luck with yours mate. maybe a SFS or vmach t -
Theoben Evo .177 Offer??
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to massa's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
is that with a scope? because my hw95k with hw silencer was only £300 brand new. so for the extra £50 you could get what you really want. might regret getting the theoben if you dont like it...... -

Thanks guys Marty, i wasnt using deecoys was just sat chilling in my ghillie. the shiny uncamoed gun gave me away but they didnt fly until i moved it. over the years ive shot loads of crows can normaly get pretty close when im stalking they either sit there or fly. if they sit there theyre dead simple as that haha. but most do fly off. think im going to camo my gun next time and might try build a little hide aswell. cheers again SKoT -

Air Riffle Recommendation
Skot Ruthless Teale replied to Sam Powell's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
really tho mate it depends what you want from your rifle. do you want it heavy or light, big or small. long or short. ?? whats it mainly for, is shot count going to be an issue? all these you have to consider. then when you narrow it down to a few rifles, get to the gunshop and try them to see which fits your shoulder the best. thats important, being a good fit -

the last 3 or 4 times ive been out ive taken the 97.. need to stop neglecting my 95 lol, its her turn next time lol.thanks mate, im loving my 97kt its so accurate, that was just a quick grouping with nearly numb hands in a wind aswell. come summer im hoping for 1 hole jagged groups . the rifle deffo outshoots me, but im getting there. i think the last 2 ingridients i need are better breathing technique and more consistent hold aswell. then i should get pellet on pellet. cheers again for the kind reply mate, SKoT Consistent hold is everything Skot, I'm trying not to sound like an old fart bu -

cheers lads it doesnt look that good anymore... friggin fell over and landed on it, in some really sloppy mud trying to find a squirrel that was trying to hide and i half landed on the gun and half on my side. shes fine tho i thought she took a hard knock but im probably over reacting. lased the neares target at 35 yds and took 3 shots at it, old fallen down tree, and it was still bang on zero so i didnt knock th scope when i fell.. just me being paranoid lol. cleaned her up now like. worst thing is i didnt even get a shot at the squirrel! basturd!! -
Now then guys and girls, A quick trip out was in order today after i got home from work and had a bit of brekky whilst getting my gear sorted. got all ghillied up, was going to camo the gun but couldnt be bothered lol. so i got to my permision and a quick re zero at 35 yards, with good shooting conditions produced this, from cold unsteady hands! anyway its good enough as you can see all shots JUST covered by the uk 1p coin. the pellet hole on the far right was due to a gust of wind, otherwise it would have landed with the rest of them.. so i gets sat down under a nice tree and p
