    im zeroed at 35 now with my hw97kt .177. as long as you know your aimpoints at different ranges your ok.. i just shot a 66 yard crow, new personal best shot, beating my 45 yard squirrel last year well chuffed

    im saying hw99s. ive had 2 of them and they were both really nice rifles. put a small scope like a 3-9x40 or a good quality 4x32 and you wont go far wrong

    Excellent shooting mawders. as soon as i seen that rifle i knew whos it was i know pianoman said he wouldnt sell his hw77.. EVER but i wonder what sort of price tag Si would put on his world famous hw97kt ... bet the bidding would start at at least £1000 also makes me want to send my 97kt off for a stage 2.... now im 1 rifle down at the min aswell because i have leant my hw97k .22 to my mate after he had problems with an old hw35 that he picked up cheap.. he has no money to get a new rifle so i lent him mine. thats just what friends are for i guess.. all the best lads

    as somebody once told me, dont get wound up too much by the numbers.. i got really frustrated with my old rifle and got rid of it, but there was actually nothing wrong with it.. it was still giving 5p groups at 35 yards when i did my bit but i got too wouynd up by inconsistent chrono results!! so thats my advice, dont worry TOO MUCH about it. if it still shoots fine ... good luck mate, SKoT

    about 36 yards .177 should be somewhere near optimal zero, but it depends on the power of the rifle and the pellets you use..

    I use a combro but dont really trust it. want an f1 or something similar but cant be bothered paying a load more dosh for it lol

    I have a webley nemesis doing 3,5 ft lbs but i wouldnt shoot anything with it. just break there neck instead mate.

    is it a lightning xl .. i read somewhere you had to heat them to get them off ?? if its a 'standard' lightning like the couple i had a few years ago theres normally a tiny grub screw to un tighten then they just slide off, if i remember right. if its like that but wont come off maybe a previous owner superglued it on??

    i thought mine was amazing (untuned rifle) at 11fps spread 10 shots.. might get it tuned now with the jealousy :laugh: Even 10 fps is good. some guys down the club are happy there regged pcp,s are 12 fps over 20 shots ! tech has come a long way over the years. atb Phil haha guess mine isnt so bad then afterall lol it does the job for me anyway. always puts the pellet where i want it- if i do my bit.

    try get a used bsa lightning or bsa supersport if i was you. good reliable guns you should find one cheap enough

    archie, first i said 40 YARDS AWAY AND 60 FEET UP, but then i thought, what tree is 60 ft tall lol... more like 40-50ft? so edited post to say 40 YARDS away and 30 FEET UP.. you know them sort of shots where you get maybe a squirrel or pigeon NEARLY at the top off a tree but not quite. normally see migpies and crows at the very tops of trees where im from. didnt mean to start world war 3 tho .. ooops lol

    i thought there was a SR 6 and a SR 12 one for .22 and one for .177 ?? dont know much about the new sr pro reticule they have just brought out tho.
