Regarding the missing woman they should throw dead calf in water with legs tied in and stick a tracker on it and see where it goes. I suspect not far. That might offend some one though so despite being useful would never happen

With the scotland thing lurcher work never came on the radar simply because there was no one to speak for us. So we just ended up collateral damage. The problem with lurcher folks is a fair few will hop over the fence. Straight away legally we are in the wrong. Regardless of leaving no damage and doing no harm. We are a tricky bunch to legitimize

Don't think any one is defending the video harry. The act its self even though not some thing most of us would do back in the 80's no one would bat an eye. The filming of it done by a supposedly supporter yea is bloody madness like filming any thing illegal. We all know that scotland ban will roll out its just matter of when and that video will certainly help it

If she was in a teams meeting or call who ever was the other end must have some info. The meetings are recorded as well some times. Hard to beleave she placed her phone on the bench then went stood by river which was fair few yards away and slipped in. You would take your phone with you if you fancied a change of scenery.

Every time you put a dog to ground you take a risk same as every time you let a lurcher off the lead. But to knowingly put a dog your attached to into a place where if it goes wrong your not going to be able to help is not for me. I have never worked that sort of ground so no experience in it. But back when I did dig I would pick my spots wisely. Preferably braken banks and not oak woods lol

I pay 8 quid a month to basc and would happly pay that to a lurcher org if it included some insurance like the basc one does. Though i will be ditching them if i can ever get through on bloody phone

You are right there when some thing falls under pest control it opens it up to loads of restrictions. I basically do it for sport and watching a dog work is the best thing ever and some free range food is a bonus. The country side the conditions you just can't explain it to some one who doesn't know. Pottering around at dusk or dawn with a dog and a net or what ever. All the poor old pigeons shooters have to preach this pest control nonsense and I am one of them too. But the truth is we just enjoy shooting things out the sky and the skill and effort it takes. The surroundings. Lovely weather a

Brilliant Tony a few people have said what you have and thats work with them. If you heavy with them it just don't go well. Mines a bugger for jumping up and pissing about grabbing me feet when she has a mad moment. But having her happy to pile in and jump on me pays dividends with the retrieving. I will tidy her up subtly as she gets older. Its been a good day today. Dinner time stood in a field stuck her in sit lobbed a dummy left lobbed one right. Think your right Ray they are sensitive which has worked well with the sheep just a scowl is enough. Also so far she has not growled at any thing which is great. Size wise she is 22 she might scrape 23 so perfect size for what I want. Just mooching about. Not sure how many dogs I have left in me Ray but I am liking the collie side of things. I don't think I am up to to rugged hot headed dogs. I want the easy life now a days Your Buck has done you well I remember the posts years ago when he was a pup. Time flies by

Very true more if your a dog for life guy lol. If she took 2 years to get going it wouldn't matter but sure is nice to the signs that all will be well. I wanted a more laid back dog than the last one and she fits the bill perfect but not too laid back. Not sure if its a collie thing or not but she reads the expression on my face a treat. If she rides up front in the van and I catch her sat on the seat with a spanner in her mouth I can't help but crack a smile and her head tilts and I get a paw on my hand. She cracks me up at times fair play

Really pleased with the pup. Just cleared 7 months and a pleasure to be around. Just started kicking in hunting up now. Not started marking yet but it won’t be far away. Flushed pheasant rabbit and all ready seems to her eyes on retrieving shot foxes so I have to be care at dusk as that’s long way off. Keen to please. We tried to cut some thing off at the pass here but long gone. You have to try though nibble like a cat seen her walk along a branch with out second thought no worries with cover either

Last thing this country needs is more legislation but it would only affect the decent folks while the idiots carry on. I honestly don't know the answer though. Seems to be such a lack of common sense and basically brains among some people now a days

Tried in the snow once under a full moon. Too dam cold lol. Too much cover around here any way. I use bells all the time in the day. If I had to choose between a locator or bells it would be bells every time. Saved me few times when a ferret has surfaced in cover some where
