  1. Can't beat it great fun and numbers don't matter but of course it is nice too get one or two too keep you encouraged. Good luck when you go back
  2. Hardly drew blood should have put a mink in there then he would have earned his star. Did look like it was getting stuck in mind
  3. Not sure if these guys could help http://falcons.co.uk/default.asp?id=32&menu=2 they are big in breeding birds and know there stuff
  4. spammers have wrecked it the owner is probably planning his next move
  5. I had that type of splitter about 8 years ago when I was selling logs. My only gripe with it was the speed of the ram it was quite slow which was a pain when you were in a hurry so I often got my chopper back out. But they do make it easy Despite the power you still have to use your head with the knotty bits and nibble at them but it will do them
  6. Found this on google I Have a deban catalogue infront of me and the listings are. Mk1 collar will only work with mk1 locator. Mk2 collar works with mk1, mk2 and mk3 locator Mk3 collar will work with mk1 and mk3 locator. and I just got a mark 3 collar that works with my mark 1 box to confirm the above but apparently a mark 1 collar wont work with a mark 3 box according too google anyway
  7. I would have said sycamore but it wouldn't burn well green but dries up nice and goes very light when seasoned and splits easy
  8. They are great too have around once you get used too them. Full of fun and happy creatures if you sort out the breeding issues as joe said. Best thing I had done was castrate my hob he turned into a bundle of fun instead of the sex mad grease monkey he was I wouldn't be with out mine now
  9. Just had a quick look on youtube for you but didnt go past page one mostly quickset videos. If you can muster the funds get this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/1846890586/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1353880362&sr=8-1&condition=new
  10. As soon as you can let the pup nose through the cage front if it can and let them mingle in the yard. If the ferret nips the pup all well and good at an early stage better now than later and things should be fine as the pup grows up with them
  11. Glad that ended well would have been a sad story other wise. Losing a dog too ground was all ways my worst fear in the old days. I used to weigh it up in my mind risking a dog you have got attached too but on the other hand you have to let them do what they love and I wouldn't have it any other way
  12. Y EH 2012 OOOPS SORRY YES IT WAS BUD Yea I really enjoyed it he seems a tidy chap and you cant blame him for throwing the old strop at times with all that attention. Be interesting too see how the tour shapes up next year
  13. was that the year in yellow one ?
  14. What a day great going and the jed sounds a determined dog. Hat off to the old chap I really hope I am as able at that age great too see
  15. Thanks for all the pointers there is a few things for me too try now
  16. Used too trap quite a few as a kid and send the furs too cobbledick. Was lots about at the time I suspect its the same now
  17. Its not so much the size its the attitude and mink have a very bad one
  18. If you had ever seen a full grown mink in a cage trap you would know the answer too this one. I pray my ferrets never come across one
  19. If you can find a spot where there is a drop down too the rabbits retreat so your hidden from view as you lay the net ( I think the term is blind set not sure though ) that would be handy. Or a spot where the rabbits go through a small field into a bigger one so you have a hedge between you. I had a tidy night the other night when conditions were far from perfect with clear sky and no wind and I thought it would be a waste of time but it wasn't
  20. Just takes a bit of practice or ideally some one too show you failing that check youtube maybe. I use one and have no urge to get a quick set
  21. vary your lengths a bit a few nice short ones are ideal for tight spots in the hedge
  22. approach the nearest farm and if it is not there's they are likely too know who
  23. Used too follow the Carmarthenshire many years ago when Lyn was there followed by Trevor. I used too do the skinning for them. Met some good terrier lads from the valleys doing it too
  24. Surprising how far they travel from where you see them. Chances are when they hop in the cover they are going a fair old way or just sitting out in the cover unless pressed too ground
