  1. The Welsh took a friendly beating and not a 6 nations beating though. ? Looks like it's all down to this weekend. England, Ireland or France?
  2. A Helion XQ38F. Pricey but excellent bit of kit.
  3. A decent thermal spotter is a gamechanger. Not only can you see things you normally wouldn't, it gives me peace of mind when I'm shooting that there isn't any non-intended species or people around.
  4. One of the old dears who my mrs goes to see said yesterday she thinks Wales "probably" can't win this 6 nations but she'll be happy as long as Italy beat England at the weekend, The stupid old bat.
  5. Morgan Freeman put it very well over 10 years ago.
  6. I'm sure King the duck murderer has got the idea now.
  7. I'm sure F.O.D would be glad if we could get the topic he started over 3 years ago back on track now.
  8. No. Because it's a single projectile. An airgun isn't the tool for the job IMO. not to mention unsporting. Sitting ducks and all that.
  9. Well done mate. Hope you're happy there.
  10. Get out of our club, imposter. You don't have a 223 problem at all.
  11. I'm going to start a "223 Anonymous" group for people who need to get it off their chest. I'll start. My name is Walshie and I own a 223.
  12. If you've been contacted by this user please do not respond to any email addresses he has sent you, and if you have please cease contact and DO NOT part with any money.
  13. I'd also consider removing your phone number from a hunting forum before the cranks start calling you.
  14. Good choice. Good call on the Tikka. I have a left-handed Tikka T3 lite in 223. I don't have a T3X because I can't afford one and they didn't make them when I bought mine.
  15. I agree. It's the licensing manager, usually a Sergeant or Inspector, not the FEO or Chief Constabkle who makes the decisions. In theory a Chief Constable could overrule a licensing manager, but in practice he wouldn't. He hasn't looked at the case, it's not his job, and there's too much at stake if anything went tits up.
  16. Cheers for that Rob. I'll see if they've got some and get a couple of boxes to try.
  17. I need to buy a brick of ammo for my 22LR, Currently I'm using Eley HP Subs in the green box (40gr). They are by far the most accurate I've tried in my gun. The only thing that lets them down is the bullets are a bit waxy and leave a residue in the breech that can occasionally cause extraction problems. My nearest RFD only has the new Eley HP Subs in the white box (38gr). Some of the articles I've read say the residue problem is better with these (good) but accuracy is worse (bad). Anyone got any pros or cons before I go and buy some?
  18. I went to Scotland with socks. I still have flashbacks.
  19. Might be worth pming him every few days in case something comes up.
  20. Sounds like she's too far away or too near the scope. I borrowed a 223 off a mate with a decent quality scope on it and I couldn't see anything through it except a dot of light not even in the centre of the scope. By holding my head at a ridiculous angle I could get a sight picture, but the slightest moverment and I lost it again.
  21. Nice shooting Dave. Looks like you're finally getting the hang of it.
  22. Congratulations Dean. Welcome to the world George.
