  1. I only need to see around 200yrd with a filter on and my old clubman does it fine, these firms are trying to re-invent the wheel to empty your pockets mate.
  2. I,v used all sorts over the years but have gone back to the Clubman, cant see the point of lighting up half of Yorkshire, bigger, brighter, doesnt always mean better.
  3. In 1963 the council up in Haltwhistle had to dig a tunnel from the road up to my Aunti's front door to get her body out the house for her funeral, snow upto the bed room window sill's, now thats a hard winter.
  4. I,v seen day time Hares chase the dog when the dog is on the arse of another Hare, happens around Feb time when they start to get frisky, not seen a Fox do it though.
  5. If thats a bitch its a strong un northernlite, after saying that, its strong looking for a dog .
  6. At the risk of repeating myself, iam suprised nobody uses Plummer x Whippets, i think they would make a grand ferreting companion, i,v yet to see a terrier with a better nose than a Plummer.

Thanks for all your input and pic,s folks, i have been picking and eating Fungi all my life but only Horse/Field Mushrooms and Blue Stalks, i see so many different types while out with the dog and think if they are edible its such a shame to walk on by, i,ll get one of the recommened books and have a read, i might also see if there are any forageing groups near me, many thanks, buster.

  10. A mate dropped me a dozen rabbits off and at least half were black, came from over Mablethorpe way.
  11. I used to dream about having a Lucas, any old car spot light would do, wired to a car battery in a plastic container [acid burns] in a army ruck sack, thank god them days are over .

Many years ago i lost a dog while out catching Hare's, we were about 5 mile from home and he,d only ever been there in the car, it was a Friday evening, anyway long un short, he walked back in on the Saturday afternoon and must have crossed the A1M to get there, since then i,v always walked my dogs to and from our local haunts.

  14. I was talking to a Farmer mate of mine last night and he said its the same with Hares, not many about, i put that down to a wet summer but that shouldnt affect rabbits as much.
  15. Fair doo,s fella, its the pied piper you need lol. I was once asked to clear some rabbits from around a Diveing Lake, he said i couldnt use a dog, or ferrets, or nets, or traps, or a gun, he was abit of a tree hugger, needless to say, he still has a rabbit problem.
  16. You will find that in the UK its illegal to drop them in a bucket of water..................... and drown them That might be the case, but seeing he lives in France he doesnt need to obey UK laws, or am i missing something here.

  20. Layers pellets plus greens and turn them a couple of yard of soil over every day.
